In a strange way I have come full circle to address to my own query. It Was the Pills the Whole Time!
When I stopped cold turkey my mental state was basically reduced to that of a child with a vocabulary of infant. That being said I was very naive and vulnerable to my suspicions that my prior life style was causing a deluge of eslf symptoms.
The 25 years of drinking I had undergone prior and seven year daily dose of 15,000 - 20,000 mgs of acetaminophen (yes thousand) I had ingested along with my drinking. I was taking more pain killers than most nfl players were. With my diminished mental state and that reality setting in I was convinced that the symptoms of benzodiazopine and opiate withdrawal were all due to a failing liver.
So I looked back on my posts and had to really scratch my head and say "Gees! What a shame." I had to endure the darkness and doom of the medication withdrawal coupled with the reckoning of my inevitable demise.
Thank you all for your encouraging posts that gave me some hope that maybe I wasn't doomed after all.
Glad problem has resolved & glad you're off the xanax.
Withdrawal from xanax & ativan took me months of weird symptoms. So thankful I learned through cognitive behavioral therapy non-medication methods of dealing with life.
They used to recommend tylenol for liver patients! Not now, no, no, no.
