Hello everbody , I just joined this group today . I have Alcohol Cirrhosis diognosed in Febuary this year. My question does anyone in this group have Cirrhosis and liver cancer? My GI thinks I have developed cancer also . I am waiting for more testing. If you have both are you still able to get a transplant? I have had a couple of "feel sorry for myself" relapses but I am clean now.

I was diagnosed with cirrhosis in Sept 2017.
I too had a scare of liver cancer but I see a hepatology/liver transplant team and the areas in my liver are scarring from the cirrhosis. I have scans to check them every 6 months to make sure they stay stable. We are at a higher risk for liver cancer because of the damage to our liver so we have to be followed for it.
Do you know what your MELD score is? Are you seeing a liver specialist?

I have F3 fibrosis which apparently is borderline cirrhosis. This diagnosis came from a biopsy done in 2009. Since then I've had attacks of excruciating pain that seems to come from my liver it feels just like the original liver pain I had when I was first diagnosed. I have had this pain and many doctors address it. Gallbladder CT MRIs blood work ultrasound doctor after doctor doesn't know what the pain is. Does anyone else here have this type of chronic pain it feels like a starts in my middle to upper right quadrant and goes straight through to my back. It's made worse by eating and drinking nothing makes it go away I have to wait it out. I should mention that since then I have been sober with five or six relapses is in the past 10 years. My new GI doctor bless his heart, has ordered another liver biopsy to be done soon. Tell me Clea, why does your doctor think you have liver cancer? What are your symptoms?
