Biopsy tomorrow

Hey all! I've been so busy working, resting, and eating my liver loving diet. Since hep c diagnosis in August, I've gotten off of Lasix, reduced spirolac to 1/4 of original dose and had reduced Nadolol to 20mg daily. Still taking Milk Thistle, B complex, iron, and multi vit.
My endo/colonoscopy showed stage 2 varices. No bleeding. That was good news, but dr upped Nadolol back to 40 mg. I get sluggish and have to drink coffee every morning to manage a classroom of students, but it works. lol
A little nervous about the biopsy. Energy is high. Hair falling out. Gained from 113 lbs to 123, which is a big YEAH!
I was so terrified in the beginning. Now I'm maintaining super low sodium, way below 2000 mg most days. It was good to come back on and read all your posts.

Yo be honest, my biopsy was no big deal.
They numbed the area and after it took effect, they pushed in a thick needle......NO PAIN....all I felt was pressure as he pushed.
A few seconds later he removed the needle and within a short period of time I went home.

Thanks Sammy. No. Really. I needed to hear that. lol. My appt is at 1:30 and I can't eat! I got a sub for 1/2 day, but I wasn't sure if I could teach on Tuesday. hmmm. rethinking it a bit more positively now. BG

I have had both types of Liver Biopsies, the normal version and recently the Transjugular Version. If it's the transjugular version, make sure they know you are sedated enough, because I wasn't and it was not a good experience. The earlier one, not bad. Only bad thing about both was that I was not allowed to get up out of bed for six hours and at the end of that six hours...I had to pee like there was no tomorrow. Make sure you go before the procedure!

I told them to go light on the sedative and the iv drip. (sodium) i watched the whole thing. it wasn't bad at all.
I'm pretty sore and ready to eat. I'll know more next week.... THanks for the support. I'm going to bed so I'll be ready for work tomorrow.
