So I've woken up absolutely frozen again. My muscles are actually contracting and cramping up I'm so cold. My temperature is 36.1c (96.98f), which although low, is actually high for me, mines usually as low as 35c (95f).
Does anyone else get really cold like this? I am cold normally, I can't go it without a coat on and yet there's people walking around with just tshirts on and I'm still cold with a coat on! But these cold attacks I get are really extreme, it's honestly like some sort of fit - i can't control my body properly.
I've read before cirrhosis can affect your thyroid? Well I've had the symptoms of low thyroid forever, and it did come back low in some blood tests, but then was OK again so?!
Anyone else get like this with cirrhosis? Any advice on how to help control it please? Pretty desperate, this is horrible!
I can wear a jacket when others are in shorts & t-shirts.
I do not experience cramping due to cold.
Cirrhosis affects all our organs because our nutrients are not getting to or utilized properly by the body.
Even during warm months, I need to keep a sweater with me for entering public places that are conditioned.
I kept a heating pad on the sofa and one in the chair where I sat....I put an electric blanket on my bed....
A few months before my liver transplant, I was sleeping in sweat pants and shirt, heavy wool socks and with my electric blanket on 10 and a thick comforter on top of that .....the coldness gets worse as cirrhosis progresses to liver failure I am sorry to say...
A heating pad will really help.
Take care.
