Hi all
It's been a long time since we was on here. I'm not sure why I was gone so long but I need to vent.
I'm having what I call "suicide pain". When pain is so bad death would be better
I am NOT considering suicide I promise but sometimes it seems like it would be preferable to what's going on in my body.
I was I a car wreck in 2002. Severe neck and back injuries.
Right now the nerve pain is going into my head causing a massive migraine ( my eye are crossing just trying to type this).
I'm being treated for the head pain but my Dr is treating it like a traditional migraine/head pain instead of cervical pain that goes into the head.
I am so tired of the pain. My husband is wonderful but even he admits sometimes he hears how much I hurt and it's like " so what else is new". How many times can he say "I'm sorry your hurting".
Again, I am not suicidal. I'm just tired of it all and sometimes need to vent.
I wish you all brightest blessings and pain free days or at least pain free moments.

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmon

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I think you are not having good pain management but I also know just taking pain meds isn't going to do it for many of us.
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy can be very helpful because it changes how we think. I believe getting through a lot of the pain is a mind game. When I am thinking that way, I pull out my CBT toolbox and go through what cognitive distortons am I having today. Research shows CBT is helpful with pain.
I wonder if a pain relief patch, like a lidocaine patch or a salanpas patch on your neck would help? Or something warming without capsaicin? You've probably tried a bunch of over the counter things already though. I find that massage helps me a lot, being gentle around my current pain place.
Someone once had this book recommendation and it really helps me when I am down. "When There is No Cure - How to Thrive While Living with the Pain and Suffering of Chronic Illness" by Craig Svensson. He has chronic pain.
I honestly try not to talk about my pain every day to my spouse. I don't want it to be such a drag on him. He knows and he understands and we recently decided I would no longer travel with him due to the pain. That makes me feel both depressed and glad not to have to struggle on these trips. I just can't do them any longer.
