I have had 4 cervical fusions including a plate from C4-C7. I have a bulging disc at C7-T1. This past summer I had back surgery at L5-S1. Due to surgical complications I had emergency bowel surgery 10 days post op. I was still in pain and ended up with another fusion this past Feb for L-4-5. I know that when I go to the neurosurgeon, his primary focus is surgery and I don't think he is really interested in the repercussions. I don't know who else to turn to? I am in a lot of pain and dependent on pain meds to get me thru the day. I can't work and have applied for disability. Can someone please tell me if there is another type of doctor to go to?

Not only do I stay tired and energyless but it this damn insomnia makes me cranky and emotional. As I lay awake and stare upon the ceiling unable to sleep I get all sorts of whacked out thoughts running through my head. I attempt to divert my thoughts to a better place but the always seem to come back to the dark and dreary during these times alone at night.just venting
