Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I call it my zombie time. Yes, I am awake and in the living room, but I am not fuctional, not willing to try to talk, can't even think until the pain goes down enough - And movement helps, it just takes a while before I can get that far.
Right now I don't think there is an inch of my body that does not hurt, but in a couple hours I will be out grooming my horse and most of this pain will melt away... at least for a bit...

I'm sorry that you're having such a difficult time.
It's HARD to live in pain..
I hope you feel free to bring ALL of the feelings involved in it
To this forum..
Which is what it's for, after all.

wish they hadnt made it so i couldnt see my old dr anymore *sigh*
i saw a pain specialist a couple months ago... he prescribed a 'stellate ganglion block', i think it was called... and said the hospital would call me to set it up... after a week, when i hadnt heard from the hospital, i went back to the dr, whos office told me it was out of their hands now and that i just needed to wait for the hospital to call me... obviously, that isnt going to happen
oh well, tough crap for me...
one thing i find particularly depressing... a few weeks before i saw him, my hand was a little sore and a little swollen... poking at it with my finger told me that i had broken my hand (the long bone behind the pinky finger) but it just didnt hurt enough to be broken, and i didnt have a clue what i might have done to it, so i shrugged it off... but when the dr's boss shook my hand, it hurt, so i remembered to ask about it, and he said that yes, it had definitely been broken, he could feel how it was growing back crooked... he said there wasnt much he could/should do about it if the pain was getting less, which it is... but it bothers me a lot that im so used to such a high daily pain level that i didnt even notice when i broke yet another bone

For me, showering every morning is a necessity. The extremely hot water and 500mg of naproxen I use somewhat helps...enough to at least get me through getting ready. I work full-time and I have kids. Every day is a struggle...I often wish I didn't wake up.
But, at any rate, enough of my selfish rambling. I am so very sorry you feel so much pain. I wish I knew what could help. Know there are so many people here who understand and support you. Vent, cry...whatever helps you...we will listen.
Gentle non-painful (((HUGS))) to you. I hope your pain begins to ease soon.
