Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
The gel is really good too. My guess is he wants you to use this when you don't have the patch on but I have to say I found the patch was enough to cover for 24 hours. I used it when I was most active. So it went on after my shower in the morning and stayed on until bedtime (12 hrs is rough time mostly to give your skin time to breath).
You might want to check with the office about using both. I wonder if he gave you both prescriptions as an either or and not a use both. Alot of insurances will not cover the patch so the gel is a good alternative. It would be good to double check since they do the same thing.
I totally agree call the dr or a pharmacist to be sure.
Healing hugs
I would check with doctor or pharmacy you don't want to end up with a problem if the meds shouldn't be mixed.
lidoderm might be good if your busy during the day and don't want to have to reapply the gel.
I can use the gel up to four times daily but you have to wait 10-15 minutes for it to dry.
Your doctor probably gave you both so you could see which one works best for you.
Hope you feel better soon.
Hugs & Prayers,
Mary
