If you cough and put your fingers on those muscles, you can feel them kind of tensing.
One thing I do to stretch myself out in that area is getting in a doorway and holding on to the sides and stretching out forward from there. I also have a foam roller that I was taught in PT to just lay on and put my arms out to the side.

Possibly some muscle spasms, etc. I wouldn't chalk it up to FMS from that. Chest pain can be due to alot of things besides FMS.
