Hi Pink!!! This really stinks.. However - I think ai may have had Adenomyosis all my life, because I remember having symptoms as a teenager.
When I have excess bleeding usually I will have a 3 months round of progesterone and it will settle things down. They have me take progesterone day 10-15 of the cycle . Very rarely I will have some problems with pain. They also told me my tissue is growing out side of the uterus..
I decided that as long as I do not have terrible pain or constant bleeding , I am going to leave it alone and just do check ups.

Sorry to hear about the adeno...I have both adeno and endo. I have been on the Mirena IUD since August 2007 (no break in between Mirenas) and it's the ONLY thing that helped that God awful pain. For me, the doctors believe the benefits outweigh the risks of having continuous birth control indefinitely. I was also facing a hysterectomy and, thankfully, was able to avoid it. I did have an ablation in 2005 but, unfortunately, it didn't help my pain for very long. The adeno and endo just came back and, true to form, got worse after each kid.

I wish you luck with your procedure April 17th. I hope it brings you great relief.

I had an IUD for 7 years, but when I got my tubal ligation they wouldn't let me keep it. Although I did still have alot of cramping while I had the IUD, I didn't bleed not one bit. If I had the Da Vinci robotic hysto done, it wouldn't be major down time... my sister was down for a few days. I just talked to her & my mom, they both had hysterectomies in their 30's.

Pink take your time on this one. Like you said too much on plate right now. Glad your pre op went well. Hope any questions or thoughts you had were put to ease.

It is nice that you have mom and sis who have been down the road before you. I am wondering if they had hysto early if there is cancer in your family.

I had an ablation on a Thursday, and was back to work on the Monday. It's really easy compared to all the other procedures I have had.

Unfortunately, it did not help me, and the pain increased with time. I ended up having a total abdominal hysterectomy (downtime 8 weeks). But, I am glad I tried the ablation first!

Take your time deciding about having a hysterectomy. It's a big decision!

A huge plate you're balancing. Hugs, and take your time on the hysterectomy decision. I hope you feel better as time goes on.

called adenomyosis > me too. I had hysterectomy I kept my ovaries. did not want to go into menopause. and have no problems going thru MENopause.
I had ENDO. was told be lucky to get pregnant. but I did..... omg.. I know its horrid, so I know what you are going thru know. HUGS>. on top of the other

but best thing I ever did was to have hysterectomy.. I recovered well\
I had my allergic to morphine.. so used capadex. and tramadol
I also had my cancer surgeries x 5 a year later..

i made the decision to have hysterectomy.i waited till i was well enough\i did not have the other thing.. COS

i did not want to have it and then turn around and have another surgery

PINK. try the continuous pill for now and get no periods.. and pain cover.. SO NOT FAIR.. HUGS \

I HAVE CFS so surgery was a big deal to me.. not knowing what lay ahead.

i see Doc on 13th april. so MRI after that. will cost me $290.
i can have a free one. but wait 6 weeks. have to see specialist.\i have the money now.. saved.. ready to roll.

Pink I didn't have your disease but I was blessed with Fibrocystic Ovary Syndrome. At the beginning (I was in my late 30's) I would just get heavy periods. As I got older my periods would come more frequently and last longer. I had a D&C, and several horrific procedures which my doctor did not sedate me for. When I got my period for 21 days straight, I started passing out from blood loss. I changed doctors and my new doctor asked if I planned to have more children. I said no and he did a hysterectomy. The relief was amazing. Not everyone is obviously in the same stage of life I was in, but if there are no more children in your future that might be the way to go. Menopause is not great but the alternative wasn't either.
