I feel your pain. Dental phobia developed in my case because of the hit and run accident many moons ago that started me on the path to more cp. Just sitting in the chair and having reconstructive face, jaw etc. work done and after all of that......done wrong! Thankfully many moons and $$$ later I found a Prostodontist that specialized in my situation. Worth every $$.

the worst pain I ever ever had was a tooth extraction...ouchie...for you sending warm hugs and some pain killers....

I'm terrified of the dentist. I've had 2 teeth pulled that cracked. It wasn't to awful. The worst part is numbing me up enough to extract the tooth.

I don't like going to the dentist either unfortunately and it is because my childhood dentist used to slap me if I cried. It created a deep sense of dread in me as an adult...all I can offer you is positive thoughts that it passes quickly...hugs, and adequate pain relief bc I know it is going to be painful. ((((((((gentle hugs))))))))))))))))

Beautifulb- -Your dentist slapped you.!!! How awful. Good Grief. No wonder you have issues about going to the dentist. There is not a person around who wouldn't have deep problems about the dentist if they experienced the same thing. I hope that he got the same thing back from a father of a young patient. Maybe he broke his leg or something. Awful awful man. I am so very sorry that this happened to you, my friend. Wish I could take it away.

Not a fan of dentists either...my childhood dentist had his nurse hold down my feet to keep me from kicking him. Had lots of nightmares about being restrained.

I'm in Costa Rica right now getting a full dental restoration ..it's been the best experience of my life. Much different than the States.

beth so sorry about what happen to you, I had one once tell me I had a surface cavity and went for it I was kicking the chair tears ..he keep going

I saw on the news and this a little off topic but they places for children that take T-19 state insurance and they would strap kids down than it got looked into and they stopped strapping them down or their baby teeth where all capped in metal but they are just dental enterprises paid for by the government being abusive to the system sadly

Awww beautiful... that is awful! WOW... what did your mom or dad do? Did they know?? I am like a mamma bear with my son... IF something happened like that ( even a nasty tone of voice toward him ) I would be livid --- and they would HEAR ALL ABOUT IT! I am just SO SORRY to hear about that - !!!!!

What an ass... after all that - HE should have sat his ass in that chair and had the same treatment that you did!

Well all in all it went okay. I chose the option of a local and gas rather than IV sedation. It was not fun- thats for sure!
I was thinking in the chair as he was yanking, ( gosh that for me is the worse part is knowing he are pulling something outta my head- oh the sounds - the sounds...) that I am SO SO thankful that dentistry has come a looong waay since the old days when you had no other choice but to grab a bottle of whiskey, head over to the barber shop... I just can't imagine the experience of no numbing stuff and a basic pair of PLIERS!!!!! EEGADS!

I REALLY WISH they would have given me enough gas...! Generally, I get more during my dentist appts for fillings etc...!! I had to ask THREE fricken times and I STILL didn't feel it... ;( They acted like it was vaporized money or gold or something! Shoot-- it would have been easier...

Anyway--- Im swollen some there today BUT its over and Im relieved!

I had one pulled In Jan. It was a molar. I was amazed at how fast and easy it was...no pain. They gave me epinephrine, it put me in afib. I had awful episodes for a month. Cardio dr. said the epi altered my heart rhythm. My bleeding didn't stop until the next morning.

It took a month for it to heal. It's fine now....but, I do miss that tooth!!!

Gosh.. I can't believe I am reading this tonight.. I spent 2 hours at the dentist today after years of putting it off.. I have 7 weeks of extractions and 2 cleaning appointments tooth whiting and the impressions for the bridges.. I was in a full sweat as they were doing x-rays.. Although dentistry has come along way since the last time I visited.. Digital X=rays.. Anyhow I also had a dentist as a child that was abusive.. Soured me on the whole deal... Good luck with your extraction .. I am sure it will go well.. Hugs
