Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I strongly feel this is not the right place for these ongoing threads.
I will friend you, and am willing to try to support you until you lie again. At all.
Of course, it's only my opinion, but I think it would be in the best interests of both tabby and this site if everyone else wishing to continue contact did the same.
As I referred to elsewhere, have 'y'all heard of a D.N.R. order.
I truly hope you get the help you need. Please be sure to tell your counselor your need to lie uncontrollably first....because until you can tell the truth you are not going to be able to get the proper help you need.
I truly wish you the best. I truly hope you get the help you so surely need.
Best wishes to you
Posting all this in chronic pain just seems like you are opening yourself to less understanding.
And you have to understand that some people come here and tell us that all our pain is because of abuse that we are not willing to ADMIT.
When many of us have physical ills that create pain, that is really a nasty thing to have someone say to us. It is called a trigger!
So you'd probably be better off sharing the abuse stories with other abuse survivors.
I sincerely meant what I said in hopes that she gets the help she needs and my suggestion of telling the therapist about her lying is the first step in getting the help she needs.
You need to read all the past threads to understand what is going on.
What I see here so far on this thread is support.
Not mushy kissy kissy support but honest helpful support
The bottom line is yes, some with chronic pain were also abused and at the same time some with chronic pain develop cancer and yet others with chronic pain had "perfect" lives and no other illness besides the cause of their chronic pain. It just isn't a clear cause and effect. I believe that believing there is such a connection is a way of down grading chronic pain to a psychological issue and not needing to look for a true dx that could ultimately bring some relief.
I do agree that going to the group for abuse issues would be more helpful for you in that area because having cp does not mean we were all or even mostly abused so will not have the answers and true support you seek.
I learnt that the hard way back when I was about your age - my family were really upset about it - but I now tell the truth - and if that is not the best thing I say nothing.
Works for me!
I really hope that you are on the path of telling the truth.
