Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I understand because I have been to ill to do much myself to encourage the education of everyone about how we and our doctors do not belong in the middle of this fight. But I could have I will now write down my whole experience and do my best to get the information out to who ever can use it to educate the ignorant of our society, ignorance is a terrible thing, I've seen it do a lot of damage to relationships of all kinds, from being born in 1960 In the middle of San Fransisco and the ignorance of the Vietnam war to the ignorance of the Civil Rights Movement which was still going on when i was born.
Nothing has ever been changed for people who are the minority of anything with out education of the facts to the general public and those in we put in power by our votes or our lack of voting.
If we do not want our children, and 2 of my daughters are afflicted with my condition, I am sure some of your children or grand-children will be afflicted with conditions which are hereditary, if we do not want them to live in a country which will not treat pain by any means which works and is medically safe, then we need to do something.
Write our story down in matter of fact words telling the truth of our experiences whether it is good or not and putting it together with other stories and getting them out there is really the in my opinion the smallest of activities we can suffer through to educate.
I hate writing in my journal. Hate is not too strong of a word. It makes my pain real and I have to look at it a second time after I just finished barely making through the day. It makes me remember it is real when I try to live in as much denial of it as I can daily. I just want to be well and normal like other people. it makes my inabilities real when I just wish I could work for living again. It makes me remember my closest relationships have been changed because of my pain. It makes me realize my helplessness, the fact that i cannot do anything really to change it. Mine is progressive and it will get worse over time.
But, I don't want my kids nor my grand-kids, nor their kids to have to have experienced some of the things I have had to endure.
Please think about it. I don't know how nor do i know whether i would be able to do much with my condition, but I am willing to try and i hope at least some of you are.
Go see the web site with the truth of what is happening out in the world while we are in our homes dealing with our unrelenting chronic pain conditions. After you've read some think about if you are willing to at the least sit, lay down, tell it into a tape recorder, type it, however, and no matter how long it takes you to finish it and then at least submit it to the web site, and maybe by the time we have our stories together there will be another avenue we can submit them to also.
