I just recently found out I have severe sleep apnea. I have both central and obstructive. After reading up on it I found out like 75% of people on long term opioids (prescription pain killers) develop some form of sleep apnea. I was sent in for sleep study because I needed like 12 + hours of sleep before I could wake up and not feel completely exhausted. My insurance would only pay for me to do a test at home. I went in and got the equipment wore it one night while sleeping, then put it in the mail. When I went back to doctor they told me I had severe sleep apnea and sent me for an in- lab study. At that study they put me on a cpap machine to figure out exactly how much pressure I need. My sinuses plugged up and I had to breath out of my mouth, so my mouth was getting very dry. That made it hard to fall asleep. They woke me at 6 am. I only got about 5 hours of sleep, but felt SO much better when I woke. I was not groggy or irritable like I have been for quite some time. So if you have been taking opioids for a while and seem to need more sleep GO GET TESTED.

Can you identify these rom-coms from just a screenshot from the middle of the films? This is a multiple choice quiz so even if you're not entirely sure you can always take a guess and at least have a 25% chance of getting it right anyway, so why not have a go?! https://www.buzzfeed.com/alysaurus688/rom-com-screenshot-trivia-quiz

I know that 10 years ago my hubby was having issues with staying awake during the day. He even fell alseep while driving a couple of times. It was scary. His sleep study showed that he was only breathing about five seconds out of every 60. He uses a CPAP at night now and only needs about 6 hours of sleep a night and is WELL rested when he wakes.
My doc said the same thing... 3 out of 4 chronic pain patients have sleep apena.

I see on TV every once in while a dental clinic in IL that they make a mouth guard that allows you to sleep when you have sleep apnea but it is expense I have not decided to get one made as they are pretty pricey...no insurance does not help my case here....but if I would do another thing now it would be the mouth appliance....keeps jaw open....so mouth can get air in....
