This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

I was sent to the orthopedic surgeon to talk about knee replacement or some type of surgery. He said the mri was grainy and he did not have the report. Instead of asking me to come back once he had the report he said from what he could see there was nothing he could do. I got a copy of the report yesterday and it says...
Conclusion
High grade diffuse cartilage loss in the medial patellar facet with subchondral cysts and marrow edema. Moderate grade cartilage loss in the inferior aspect of the lateral patellar facet. Two small areas of subchondral sclerosis and cyst formation in the medial tibial plateau with punctate foci of overlying cartilage loss.
So there is uneven wear of cartilage which my pain doctor and physical therapist said is throwing everything off. I also have back issues and this is adding to it. I go back to the orthopedic doctor that referred me to this surgeon next week and I am going to ask to see the other surgeon in that practice. I can not believe he expects me to just suffer. He also made a statement that maybe it will get better. How the hell does he think it just going to get better. I am just so aggravated with that doctor! Thanks for letting me vent.

Can you identify these rom-coms from just a screenshot from the middle of the films? This is a multiple choice quiz so even if you're not entirely sure you can always take a guess and at least have a 25% chance of getting it right anyway, so why not have a go?! https://www.buzzfeed.com/alysaurus688/rom-com-screenshot-trivia-quiz

Hugs
I don't know what the answer is, or if there is one.

I had to wait it out (in gradually worsening pain) for a good 18 months before he told me I NEEDED a THR.
I guess that's just the way that they roll in the joint replacement field. Their argument is that the sooner they replace them that increases the odds that you'll eventually have to have revisions.
It sucks. Anyway, I hope you get some answers and effective relief for your pain!
hopefully they will treat you with shots and pain meds....that is about all I can see but I am not a doctor and do not listen to me....
I broke the tibial plateau in 2000. Started having problems about 8 years later. I have had a ton of cortisone shots. They helped at first for months. The last one I got about a year ago helped for 2 days. Then a few months ago I had the Synvisc-One shot. It did not help at all. My pain doctor wants to burn the nerves around the knee. Which if I can not get a replacement I guess I will have to do. The thing that gets me though is it is high grade loss on the inside but moderate on the outside, so it is uneven. Which is putting my whole body out of wack. Also like I said in original post I have back issues which are made worse by this. Burning the nerves will not fix that.
I go to pain management. My last doctor had me on Morphine ER and Oxycodone for break though pain. My present doctor will not prescribe Oxycodone. I get Morphine ER and Morphine IR for break though pain which does not work as well. He offered to increase the dose of the IR but I wanted to wait to see if I was getting knee replacement so my tolerance wasn't even higher than it is now. In the mean time I found out I have severe sleep apnea both obstructive and central. Now I don't want to increase dose until that is being treated. I'm a little scared taking the meds I'm on now.
Thanks again for replies.
I m so sorry you are going through this pain!
