Dixie, you are NOT whining and even if you were, that's what we're here for.

Where is the sudden pain? If it's abdominal or chest, you need to get it checked out immediately.

It's not fibro pain? I know you can tell the difference.

It's just all over pain. I have fibromyalgia and DDD, but this is fibromyalgia pain. I hurt all the time and when I'm in a flare it usually gradually builds and builds but thus is so sudden and powerful...G! It's just never been like this before.

I get the you're fine one minute & down on your butt the next but mine is all due to the sciatic. I think when the lower disc's clasped that they are on the nerve & when I move the wrong way it just really aggravates it. And now being pregnant really doesn't help it.

I think after this little guy is born I am going back to the surgeon to see if there is anything that can be done because it gets to the point that I have to use a cane at times & at 37 with 2 going on 3 young boys I really don't want to have to use a cane.

I have fibro as well and I've had this happen in a big flare. it just hits you like a ton of bricks.

All I can offer is support as you ride out this flare. Take whatever meds you have for it. Try a hot bath, stay warm and try to get as much rest as possible.
I wish I had a better answer.

Sandy is right. Soak in a warm bath. Curl up under a warm blanket.

Please seek out medical help if the pain is abdominal or chest. Otherwise, use heat or ice or anything that might help. It's tough to place a hot pad or ice when it hurts everywhere!

I hope this severe pain lifts soon and gives you some relief.

For those who have asked.....it's fibromyalgia pain,....not chest or abdominal pain.....just stupid fibromyalgia and its becoming unbearable tonight!

Well, FIRST it is NOT "stupid"!
Fibro may be stupid and doctors don't really understand what is going on so it can be healed.
But I have to argue against saying that you have JUST pain. Pain hurts physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. It destroys the soul.

Perhaps there is some part of these replies that can help.

Dixie sorry you are flaring up so much. Do you have extra triggers? Storms? Overdoing? A combination of things can bring it all together and spread it throughout your body.

Electrical storms hit me this way. I pull out all my heating supplies and put on a movie and try real hard to focus on it, instead of the pain. I've been in a flare too, spring is on the way!
