Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
My upper arms hurt, outer thighs, inner knees, shoulders, to the touch. At night my knees and shoulders hurt so bad. I went to doctor once about it years ago, doc said I dont have arthritis. This year I went for joint pain, they did all the lab tests, neg, I said what about fms? she said you have to go to rhuemy for that! I havent went. My main pain is low bak and pelvic, but wonder if my rollover caused some trauma? have you asked your pain doc?
David.
In the meantime try taking some ibuprophen , also soak in the tub with epson salt if you have it and or put moist heat on the effected areas.
Last week I went to the dentist and got a filling. The dentist said that it would only take a couple of minutes and it was up to me if I wanted to try it without the shots. I said lets try it without and she hit a nerve and I felt like I was punched in the face to my neck then my shoulder on down into my chest. This just reinforced to me why I hurt so much everywhere and how the nervous system sends that signal down the line. Do you know what I mean?
I hope that you find what is going on with you and find a solution to it. Do take care of yourself and get to feeling much better. Toni
I think that you need to have your Doctor do some tests to see if you are suffering from RA. All of that pain on your joints sounds like RA, so talk to him and see he can do the blood test to see what is actually going on. Take care and keep us posted,
Hugs,
take care, Lee :)

I have a lot of the pain that you just described. I have pain everywhere it seems like. The doctor first thought that it was from the Crohns but now were are thinking that it is something else. I wish I could tell you what it is, but I am lost, just like you. I do know that a HOT bath sometimes sounds good to me, but then when I try to get in the bath, it hurts really bad, so I have to cool it down. I used to LOVE hot baths, to the point where steam would be coming off the water, but I can't enjoy them anymore. It truly is sad what we have to let go of, because of our pain. Don't we have enough problems without not being able to enjoy some of the simple things that we once loved?
Sorry for the rambling. I just get lost in my own thoughts at times.
I hope that you find your answer real soon!
Hugs, Love and Laughter!

I was to my first Rheumatologist last month and she thinks I have Fibromyalgia as well as the osteoarthritis I've had for 22 years. I still don't believe I have FMS, but maybe I do since I hurt all over, but I don't have the trigger points, like it sounds like you do. I still think my symptoms seem more like rheumatoid arthritis since my joint aches are symmetrical. But blood tests for that are negative. I started pool therapy this month and the physical therapist said I reminded her of her mother, who at only 57 has a very severe case of osteoarthritis--which might be true since I have had joint problems for a long time, and bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome--post surgery. You may have fibro and osteoarthritis. I know I have difficulty with my knees and have difficulty getting up from sitting on the floor. I even have difficulty going up and down stairs now. It seems as though all my symptoms had increased in severity 3 years ago--they've hit me like a Mack truck. Good luck to you on your upcoming dr visit.
