Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Right now what is hurting on me is my head "massive headache" and my right leg is really hurting. It feels like I just got hit in the shin with a base ball bat. My left lung has been at level 6 pain for three days straight. High enough to get me paranoid that I might have another blood clot in it. I have to calm myself down and fight the urge to want to go to the emergency room.
I know it's just residual pain from the damage that was done when I had my initial blood clot two years ago. My pain levels are tolerable right now as long as I do not perform much activity. I don't even have the energy to go outside and look at the fireworks. I'm just sitting here on the cough nursing a leg that will never, ever, never get better again.
I hope you feel better tomorrow, Yadlim. I know how it is when you overdo things and then pay for it the next day. I say let your hubby sleep if it is going to cause you that much pain to get up and wake him. Sit on that couch and rest up. Tomorrow is a new day for each and every one of is. Hugs!
I'm bone weary myself. I know how you feel about trying to stand up. My knees, bad hip and lower back will all scream at me. Jeremy is correct in that if you overdo it, you pay for it the next day. I did some simple cooking yesterday and today and am surprised by how much it wore me out. I didn't even bother to strain to look out my balcony or windows to see if I could see any fireworks. Been there, done that in my earlier years.
It's supposed to rain tomorrow, which will encourage me to sit still and read and watch TV. On the bad side, the increasing humidity will be hell for my arthritic joints. The OS prescribed 50 mg Tradmodol 4-6x daily back on June 17 and they do nothing. I feel uncomfortable calling and asking him for something else as I am unsure if he is the one who I want to perform my hip replacement.
Hope you get some rest and feel better. I wish that I could come to help you pack.
BTW, Firefly is a beauty.
I don't see why doctors refuse to listen to the patient and treat them with the proper medications. I've been tempted to just stop Norco cold turkey for a month just to prove to the pain doc that I'm not an addict. Then get tested clean and tell him I'm clean now and in a lot of pain. I have no choice. I can't take Tylenol because I have liver disease, and I'm on blood thinners, so I can't take Aspirin. My only choices are Narcotics, or to just suffer in silence. Any how, I hope you can find some relief for your chronic pain, Clover. I think you are suffering needlessly. Hugs!
you need to understand that there are people out there who just read posts for ideas and infomration. When you keep saying Tramadol is useless just because it didn't work for you, it doesn't mean it won't' help someone else....but people reading may refuse to try it because you keep saying it's useless. There are quite a few folks actively on the Board who use Tramadol as part of their Pain Management program.
We don't all act the same towards the same meds. Right now I take Oxycodone and Morphine becuase the Oxycontin and Fentanyl I used to take started to work like baby aspirin.
When it comes to med, it just depends on how the med will work with the body chemistry.

I am off to work for a really long day.. I consider myself lucky that after i got pain meds my leg is only 2/10 and my jaw is 0 .
Tramadol fortunately works for me - from just 50 mg regular i get relief for about 15 hours or more and for some reason it gives me excellent nerve pain relief, maybe because the nature of my nerve damage is mostly trauma?
(( hugs)))
Soon as well. I kinda had a rough evening. I was walking a lot and by 5 pm i was limping big time
