so i am a complete idiot! the post i was refering to was on the Migraine site! i would like to bring it up here too though. occasionally my body starts......spasming....seizures, i dont know ( and niether does the dr or Neurologist). its like i cannot control my body, my arms fling out or try to pull backwards, my back bows, and it is very painful. none of the Drs i've seen know what it is, so they label it ' seizures of unknown origin'. has anyone else experianced this? if so have any of your Drs diagnosed it? any help would be appreciated and maybe we can help each other! love and joy to you all

Okay for starters there is a big difference between twitches and seizures. I'm not sure what people mean by twitches. As for seizures there are different kinds, there are Absence, Myoclonic, Tonic, Atonic, Clonic and Grand Mal. I personally have Absence seizures and Grand Mal seizures. And I can tell you that right before, during or after you don't remember anything. You don't remember having the seizure, you don't remember how you felt during the seizure or what your body felt like.

I can say that I've been around seizures my entire 43 years of live, my mom was a grand mal seizure epileptic, my older sister was a grand mal sister epileptic and died from it at 21 and I have an undiagnosed seizure disorder that produces both grand mal seizures and absence seizures. I've met and become friends with many people at my neuro's office and from my frequent inpatient hospital stays on the Epilepsy ward when my seizures start acting up and meds have to be adjusted. I've never heard anyone describe any kind of seizure pain like a sexual feeling.

You might want to find a Neuro that specializes in Seizures/Epilepsy or find a Hospital that has an Epilepsy Ward, not all do. These will be the places where you will find the best answers to your questions.

What your describing sounds like some type of Myoclonic or Clonic seizures.....

The answer is yes there are documented cases of seizure infused orgasms. My uncle is a retired neuro and he loves answering questions concerning seizures. My sister's husband had sien very strange and off the wall seizures due to a brain tumor and be is the doc that finally dx'd him. Keep a journal of your 'twitches and movements-' time of day, food, rest and activity.

My uncle said to due a Boolean search by submitting each variable with your body movements. Small little 'twitches' often turn out to be seizure disorders. We all have our own way for a discription of what our body is experiencing.

Hi sweetheart!! I am not sure if I have welcomed you to the site before or not. Just in case, welcome to the group!! I want you to know that there are no stupid questions here sweetheart as all of us has unique knowledge we can add to the group and with medical problems as I have found out myself there are many gray areas as well...things are not always cut and dry even with my own medical issues and I was a very experienced nurse for over 15 years. My own views have slowly changed over the years and I have been humbled by personal experiences as well.

My son has partial onset seizures and he experiences an aura just before of feeling funny, and being upset...doesn't remember the event, and sleeps for about 1 to 2 hours post seizure. When he has a seizure it is scary...his eyes roll up, he turns blue; becomes rigid, and foams at the mouth. This lasts about 3 to 4 minutes. It doesn't happen often but when it does it is scary.....he is 11 yrs old.

I think definitely keep a journal about the events that are happening to you. There are many varieties of seizures that can be related to typical seizure categories as Kat described or more atypical ones like Joanne described that don't really fit under the umbrella of the typicals. Keeping a journal will help the doctor properly diagnose you. Also, are you on any medication because sometimes taking certain medications together or alone can cause strange side effects.

thank you all for your kind, supportive posts. i used the word ' twitches ''' i referance to a different post. that is how they put it! i didnt realize i was posting on the wrong site at first! my head doesnt want to play nice today. i am on a number of meds, to many to list for now. i have been researching any combonations and so far none seem to be the problem. key words so far! i even have my Pharmasist checking for me. she rocks! i will definately check the types of seizures you mentioned. its already been a bad pain day, bad headache day, now this tension like any moment the spasmz/seizures are go8ng to start. i wil start keeping a journel, i used to, dont know why i stopped! so again, thank you for everthing said. love and prayers to you alll

I know this might sound silly, but I saw this once on an episode of Grey's Anatomy. A woman presented have orgasms as a type of seizures. She has some sort of brain anomaly that affected her hormone levels in her body and it's the way the seizures presented.

i'm not sure what the fix was- it was on a number of years ago. But maybe you should have your hormone levels checked along with a neuro exam.

As I said, it might sound silly that it was on a TV show,but Grey's Anatomy is pretty spot-on when it comes to weird diagnoses and the treatments involved. And everytime I've googeld one of the diagnoses, they were absolutely correct in the portrayal of them. (like fecal transplants where they use the poo of a close relative or partner and then give it via enema or NG tube for C.Diff. Sounds gross but it's pretty common practice. I had to google that one. lol.

Good luck and let us know how this turns out. Seizure disorders can present in so many different ways that it's hard for even a trained neurologist to make a diagnosis sometimes.
