Screw loose

So I have 6 screws in my right foot, and the past month I've been having pain & swelling occasionally... does anyone else have foot screws? Ever had to have hardware removed because of pain?

The subject was supposed to be a funny... BTW. I don't know if it's a loose screw or not, I have an appt today at 2:45 with my foot & ankle dr.

Yes. I had to have my ankle screws and plate removed because the heads of the screw were pushing out my skin. when touched, it caused nerve pain. good luck at the doc's today.

I have several screws loose but they are in my head not my foot. :)

My sister had plates and screws in her lower legs close to ankle. They had to remove the screws because of the same thing.

I hope they have been in place long enough for your injury to heal. I hope you have a good doctor's appointment. I would ask about nerve damage if he says to leave them in.

I did have a differnent thought upon reading the subject heading :)
I would think a simple xray will tell your dr if your foot is coming apart

I'm sure they'll x-ray... doesn't feel like it's coming apart, but the pain feels like before I had surgery. I'll update soon, appt is at 2:45 EST!

Yes Pink I was a blonde with a screw loose. Seriously. I had a loose screw in the plate that was put in my back for a fusion. I had to have another fusion to fix it because it ended up causing more damage.
Btw I had a lot of people laughing at me for that too!
