Awwww honey, first of all Hugs! Cancer is not the bad word that it used to be 20 or even 10 years ago! I am a cancer survivor, and of my cancer's (lung) was very agressive, and guess what? After they removed part of my lung, gave me chemo and radiation I recovered!

Then cam the stomach cancer last year, I just got done with my chemo treatments, and after having part of my stomach chopped off, I am fine (or at least I think so). The progress that cancer research and treatment has done is amazing! And even if your Mom has cancer, it does not mean that she is going to die, it means that the is going to have to go through some treatments to get better. The treatments are no picnic, NO, and anyone here that has gone through chemo and radiation can tell you that!

I pray and hope for your mom's health, be there for her, support her, be with her for the ride, and let her know everyday that you love her, OK? Take care and know that you can always come here and vent.

Sorry to hear that news, thank you for letting us know! I will be praying for your Mom, you and the family. Have you ever heard of the caring bridge? Your Mom would be able to connect with people and updating her medical status to all of her loved ones, kind of like a daily journal, and friends and family can send her messages. It is a really cool web site. One of our orthopedic doctors has liver cancer, and he is giving us updates all the time with his status.

Leigh-Ann, I'm with Tipper on this. Hundreds of cancers are now treatable and curable. We hear of remarkable survivors all the time. There is no one in our lives who loves us like our mothers. Just love her every day and try to stay strong for her.

I'm sorry love, hope if it's bad at least you know early so it can be beat. On the doctors show today they talked about a man who had liver cancer and with heat they killed the tumor. There are new techniques out there ...I hope she won't need. I had that scare with my dad recently. Hang in there. I said a prayer for her. Best wshes to you. Lynne

I can relate more than you know!! My 20 year old son had non Hodgkin's Lymphoma on his heart last year, 7 months of chemo and 3 months of radiation he is now cancer free, almost killed me to see him suffer so much... now my mom has pancreatic cancer, had a major operation a week ago , called the "Whipple" procedure took out part of stomach,pancreas, and small intestine... she is barely making it... I know your afraid but try to be strong for her!!!! If you need to talk let me know..kimmy

I am sorry that your mom received such a diagnosis. That must be very frightening for you. Tipper is right. Treatments for cancer in this day and age are far more effective and plentiful. I am sure your support means a lot to her. Just give her lots of hugs and a ready ear to listen I hope they beat it quickly..

I'm sorry your mom recieved the Dx. And everybody is right Cancer treatments are always getting better. I wrote a page long rply earlier but it disappeared. thoughts and prayers for you and your mom.
