I haven't really been around the last week because of all the drama going on in my life. Last week I think it was Tuesday my SO comes to me and says he thinks he is "trying to come down with a cold " I told him not to try so hard and made light of it. Wednesday he started with the sniffles and by Thursday he had a full blown cold. During this timeframe it was "get me this-get me that, what's on tv,I'm hungry" and on and on, at the same time my neck and back were very painful. I had trouble even turning my head. At one point on Sat I lost my temper and said "for heavens sake you have a cold". I never do that because he is usually good but when he is sick forget it. I was talking to my daughter on the phone Sunday morning and he came charging out of the bathroom saying he was dying and couldn't breathe. I immediately called 911 and then took a towel to dry him off. I helped him put underwear on, rounded up the dogs to lock them up and then the ambulance came. He was admitted to the hospital with a COPD flare. This was the second time but it was not any easier. He was put on oxygen, given steroids and breathing treatments. I felt totally guilty for what I had said and felt. Thankfully he is home now but it was a scare I hope not to repeat.
Sitting in the hospital on those wonderful hard chairs was a nightmare but I was so thankful the hospital was near my house. Meanwhile the clunking and grinding in my neck was getting worse. It is such a horrible feeling. I have my surgeons appointment on Friday and unless he tells me there is nothing he can do I anticipate surgery. Again. I am sorry for ranting and probably not making much sense but my back is spasming and feels like someone is sticking a knife in my back along with my neck I am having a hard time handling it all.
