I take Lortab 5, and yes it does make me a little ichy, when I first started on it, id did make me sick to my tummy but that has gone away and now I just get ichy. I've been on it steady since feb of this year

Thanks, well I'm going to keep trying to take it because that is all I have really had any luck with. My doctor called in Soma to my Pharmacy friday along with my usall 30 day supply of Lortab and I'm not very familuar with Soma and a little scared about combining the two. Do you know anything about Soma? I do know it is a muscle relaxer from what I have read on here from others that have taken it,but not much else.

no I have never taken that I take flexaril and they work pretty well together

whenever i first start taking a new opiod, i itch and get little bumps on my skin and can poo for a few days (ok i know thats gross) but it goes away after the first week. i've never had an allergic reaction, i think im just sensitive to meds as well and its my body adjusting. i never get the bumps back or itch if i stay on the same med after the first few days

Have you told you doctor you get itchy when you take the Lortab? The constant itching is a classic sign of an allergy and allergies get worse, not better. Continued exposure can lead to a more severe allergic reaction, one that is anaphylatic (life-threatening in nature). Tell your doctor; there are other pain relief options beyond Lortab (especially if you're on the brand name versus generic version). Lortab is simply hydrocodone and acetamoniophen, in you case 5 mg of hydrocodone and 500 mg of acetominophen. Other options include codeine instead of hydrodone, or other nartcotics entirely. But staying with a medication you're having an allergic reaction to (itching, aka uticarica) is just plain stupid and begging for problems.

FYI, Darvon is banned in Europe; it is a dangerous medication that can cause severe cardiovascular compliations and it should be banned here in the US as well). However, the FDA is all to beholden to the pharmaceutical companies and loathe to admit when they've made a mistake approving and/or not withdrawing a drug, so it remains on the market, its complications well-known within the medical community (at least among doctors who care about their patients well being). See Dr. Orange's article on Darvon/Darvocet (one of the DS medical advisors); she's quite adament about having learned about the dangers of it in medical school.

soma makes me very sleepy. i have used hydrocodone before and it did make me itch, i beleive it makes almose everyone itch. it is very effective for the most part, so i would stay on it unless of course the itch is worse then the pain, which i doubt! good luck!

Yes, i have told him, and he prescribed Darvon,but I only took a few and I got sick on those too. I'm just really sensitive and have been that way since I was a little girl. I may have to quit the Lortabs because it isn't just the itching,but some sort of strange reaction where my legs feel like when you go out in the cold and come back inside and you know, when that warm feeling you get in your legs when they begin to warm up? and the itching. Since I'm not sure what this illness is I have yet for sure, it may also be one of the symptoms I have since I have noticed it slighty when I'm not taking any pain meds. Everyone I seem to tell about this that have taken Lortabs have had the same,or simlular reactions, at least the itching that is. As for Darvon being a bad drug and being banned in Europe, that's the first I've heard about that. It seemed fairly weak to me when I took it, just had trouble with it flaring up my rash I get on my face when something doesn't agree with me, and of course the muscle and joint pain which allways gets worse when I take something that doesn't agree.

Unfortunately, I, too, itch severely when I take my Lortab. I now take it with 2 Benadryl and it helps some. I have a very sensitive system, but after years of spinal pain and 4 surgeries, I take them so I can tolerate the pain.

Hi I take Lortab 10 and Soma. I have been on these for years so I don't have any side effects except for them not working ! lol Take it slow and it should be O.K. If not , consulet your Dr. Hugs, Deb

itching is a common side effect of opiod medications, there is a fine line between that and allergy like symtoms, if its bothersom or if you are worried , its better to be safe than sorry and check with your doctor.

yeah I know that one on oxy pills I had killer itch and sweeting and horrible nasua, I will never take oxy pills again...
