Here, I'll start:
A smoke. By Ashley Lang
Inhaling the exhaust of an over-due exchange,
I release my breath, watching the smoke billow around me.
My long, yellowing finger tips- a reminder of the
Compacted sticks that sour my soul.
Each inhale rewards an exhale of relief.
The tip slowly burns away to ashes by my side.
I watch as that little tip of molten lava
Seeps into my pores as it
Reaches further to my face.
All sounds fade away-
The chemicals dance in the air,
The carcinogens that corrupt my lungs.
I drop it, stomp it out and wait until my next fix.

I thought for fun I would share the poem I wrote for Father's day. His totem animal is a Platypus and he told me amazing bedtimes stories as a child. So:
A Platypus for a Papa.

There are few who grew up such as I, with a Platypus for a papa. Cute and snuggly, with kindness in his eyes, is a Platypus Papa.
We had games in rivers and built sundry dams, We had fun adventures through the prairie lands, We spent quite a lot of time simply holding hands, me and my platypus papa.
He built an imaginary world all around, my fabulous platypus papa, a place where bears and ducks abound, such a creative platypus papa!
Caves made of chocolate and bridges of cheese, treat baking monotremes and patrol flying geese, What wonderful stories of inspired caprice told my darling platypus papa.
There are few who grew up such as I, with a platypus for a papa, more than a patriarch had i, with my lovable platypus papa.
while others had governors issuing commands, I had a best friend closely at hand, there isnt a father in all of the land better than my platypus papa.
With careful planning and a little luck you may win the favor of those above you, and the arms of their world will open up, exposing a life free of burden.
And in their wake, you'll smile as you politely decline the offer.
