Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
My dr. has me on tons of vitamins mostly. I was a skeptic but now a believer. They really have helped me a lot.
Would you feel better about your meds if some of them were minerals and vitamins...more natural?
Regardless I still have to take a couple of other meds but to me, taking a handful of vitamins is better in my mind than taking a handful of prescription meds. I have mine down to two scripts. Just a mental thing...but it makes me feel better.
I hope you find a dr. you are comfortable with and that can help you maybe narrow some of your meds down for you.
Goodluck.

it was tradgic his wife told me she well never get it out of her mind he died in her arms he told im so afraied he told her love her then drew his last breath. he was a wonderful person. had two boys. hugs minnie
At my last physical, my throid numbers were "a little low". So naturally the doc just called in some ...... pills.
They made my legs hurt really bad. I stopped taking them and called him. He says, "I have no idea why that would happen." and the nurse says, "keep taking them and come in again in two weeks."
All I could think was, "NOT AGAIN! No more PILLS!". I am so tired of all this.
Anyway, I read on the internet that this is a serious side effect. I have refused those meds over and over. He winks at me every time "offering" to "allow" me to continue to NOT TAKE THEM as long as it does not get worse.
Why would I take a med that makes me sick to prevent something else?
My moral is keep on talking to your doctors to find the right thing for you if you feel like a pill machine a human peez as we all know the feeling maybe they can come up with something to deal with it. I know some extreme Cp cases people can take a shot pain med and I know bless your heart you got some pain have you ever thought about something like that?
I know that I could never have gotten through this ordeal without the support of my wife, kids, and most importantly my faith in God.
Gosh, I know how you feel! I go through this same feeling on occasions. And there have been times in my history where I tried with my doctors knowledge to go off my meds. I did supplements, diet, meditation, and exercise instead. Unfortunately, in my case it did not work out well at all. I know what a drag medications are but at this point in time they are the best we have. And your situation sounds serious enough that I would not recommend messing around. I actually ended up in the hospital. So I learned the hard way to stay on my meds. But like you I am not fond of them. Someone, much brighter than myself once told me to think of my medication as instruments to a continued existence. And by taking them I am able to be here for my son and my grand daughter. That has helped me a great deal. Hugs, Cathy
I am so tired of taking prescription medicine!!!!
But, I have taken a good hard look at each pill, and there isn't a single one that I can stop taking.
It sucks!
Maybe it's time to document the areas of concern then sit down with your Dr. n go over it.
Wishing you the very best. xxxxx
sharing?
I do some times and then stop.
I don't always see them helping.
I tried magnisium because many people here
said it helped but it made me very hyper.
Has anyone else noticed that magnisium makes you hyper?
As far as natural supplements these 2 help me tremendously with pain and inflamation Turmeric, L-
arginine. I also take Zinc, alpha lipoic acid, Flaxseed w/omega 3 and collagen. When my IC was acting up I took 8 to 10 colostrum daily, huge horsepills, lol.
Kris you mentioned your testosterone level drops have you tried DHEA it's a natural hormone. I know you don't want to take another pill but it is a natural supplement.
Healing hugs, Marci
November/December is hard for me b/c I have extra work (I travel) & extra family stuff b/c of holidays. I was in Anchorage over my birthday (3 planes each way, longer than my trips to Europe) and the 4 hour time difference had me confused. I have a dual time watch but we had gone from Eastern to Central to Pacific to Alaska time, and even the watch was confused!
In the spring it will be my 15 year anniversary of RSD. All I can think of to make myself feel better is that the 1st doctor who consulted on my case told me that I'd be in a wheelchair by my 40th year. I just turned 43 while in Alaska. I may have to use a cane in the winter, but I am NOT in a wheelchair, despite some pretty crazy predictions from that doctor.
Your pill routine sounds familiar, in fact, it sounds...routine. Maybe b/c it is so hated it becomes harder? Is that possible?
Back when I began pills I was like you, even vomiting them up at times. But then the doctors offered to put a pump inside my body, and my fear of needles, medical procedures & doctors overcame my fear/hatred of the pills. I'll never enjoy it, but after all this time I finally realized it's my hand in life, at least until a cure is discovered. And THAT thought gets me from pill to pill. ;)
Good Luck, I hope you get better or find a doc who has a better solution. If so, please keep us in the loop! ;)
I hate the situation that causes me to take them...being a 37 y.o. troll is more than I care for...but, I am so thankful for the pharmaceuticals.
HUGS to you!
