Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

And it got me feeling sorry for myself. Not sure if feeling sorry or anger or just trying to push through acceptance is best. I feel like I take too many pills...
The two little bottles of thyroid replacement I get four times a year is the cost of living through cancer. I can deal with that.
the 60 tabs of tranqualizers I get every month to keep from going totally flippo kitty everytime something scares me, that is not too bad. I usually have extra at the end of the month.
The two bottles of antidepressants, well, I quit asking for them to be refilled.
My hydrocodone for breakthrough pain, that is another 180 pills a month. They come in a large bottle. (still no confirmation that they are shipping this week so I will have them next week)
This morning I picked up my gaba from the mailbox... Two huge bottles from the manufacturer with a label for me slapped on them. 540 tablets for one month.
To all of this I have to connect with my PM doc and have an arthritis med added. OTC Aleve is not enough anymore, and I am losing my ability to walk, not because of my crushed spine, but because of the old injuries to my knees back in '95.
I don't want to take any pills. Not any of them...

If you only know one thing about me, it should be _____________________.

Once I get the self INR tester and my medical marijuana, I can cut doctors completely out of the picture. I will go to the ER when I need urgent medical attention. Doctors are a complete waste of time. I'm really reaching my breaking point over here. I had to control myself earlier. I will not bother this doctor anymore for meds if he cuts them, or if he has a problem giving them to me. I'm not going to plead my case to him. I know what kind of pain I have. There is no need to try and convince these doctors any longer. At least with the medical marijuana, I will be getting away from the APAP that is in the Norco. I'm done with pain management. I'm sorry for the rant, I'm just so frustrated that I as a grown man can't even finish washing dishes because of my pain. I hope you get off the opiates some day Yadlim. It will be one less stress to have to deal with. Hugs to everyone!
Take care.
I'm sorry for ranting on your thread Yadlim. I was so frustrated yesterday after arguing with my doctors staff on the phone. Being sick and in chronic pain can be very aggravating at times. I hope everyone is having a good morning. Hugs.
The other is a muscle relaxer. (non-narcotic), which I take only at bed time, after hiking or climbing a mountains. (Small mountains,) So I don't use them very much. My neck and shoulders hurt A LOT sometimes after hiking or climbing.
The others are for high BP, etc.
I guess pills have become our new normal whether we like it or not. Have a low pain day. Hugggss Laurie
I was on Oxy when I first crushed my spine, that and a couple other opiates I don't remember. I tried Oxy again when I went from 1 hydrocodone a week being enough to 6 a day NOT being enough in the span of eight months. I found that all it did was make me not care I hurt, rather than stopping the pain.
I am afraid that most of my issues right now are stress - which is causing extra pain, which is burning through my energy reserves, which is causing more stress and more pain.
I am going to go curl up on the couch with hubby and watch Walking Dead then try to go take a nap while he goes grocery shopping.
hugs
