i have being on pain killers for a number of years and still alive.
theirs lots of people that have being on meds for a long time as well and they are still living.
with some people they do kill, the reaction does kill them, small number of people die from pain killers.
i have heard many a story about pain killers, one person died after being on meds for 13 years, his stomach exploded. some people have taken od and die from that, some people are allergic and die from that or some people mix them and can die from that.
my dr makes sure i take anything that will not help or makes a bad reaction, so it depends on the person.

Unfortunately we have to learn to live with the pain and not let it get to where it is controlling us but we are controlling it. What I would do next time is get up and help out around the house and do what you have to do so that way if you want to go lay down you can and then your mom will not give you any flax about it.
