Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Living with the pain is so hard. I have been in intense pain from a form of autoimmune arthritis for 6 years. I have to take my pain meds 3 times a day inorder to function. Trying to have a positive attitude is the best (but so f-ing hard!). I am also taking cymbalta and abilify to help with the depression associated with having chronic pain. I suggest those. If you ever need someone to talk to feel free to message me :) hope you feel a bunch better soon...
I hope you get on an antidepressant also. That will help immensely with the pain. One like Cymbalta also has pain relief properties in it, so that might be beneficial to you. Almost all chronic painers are on antidepressants. But you definitely should be on one.
I wish you the very best. Please keep posting, but be sure to talk with your doctor about your pain and depression. God bless. and take care. Hugs,Lee
I thought it was Percocets that they gave me after my surgery but maybe I'm wrong and it was Tylenol 3. So I guess I don't really know what is was that caused my stomach pain.
I'm not sure my doctor will give me anything stronger at this point. I'll have to trial and error with the stomach pain.
Also, I am on anti-depressants. I have been for years and the last two have been spent doing oddles of combinations. So right now I'm on Cymbalta and Lamcital and Seroquel for anxiety.
I can't imagine living with this pain for all the years some of you have. I just don't know how you do it. I haven't been very long with my knees and find it so depressing already.
I have my good days and bad ones. I have to learn that when I am having more bad days to let my doc know right away. I hope you get something to help relieve your pain. Let us know how you are doing.
Hang in there!!
I have to try to come up with some money to afford swimming, it is supposedly supposed to help.
Thank you!
I was reading about how your knees hurt you so bad at times, along with your other aches. I feel like we are twins.....I have neck and back problems...along with two knees that pain me so bad at times I can hardly walk. I have LOTS of arthritis that's the reason for my knee pain. At any rate, I've been going to Pain clinic and they had me on Percocet, Oxycontin, Flexiril,. Well, all those meds DID NOTHING for the pain in my knees. Until he introduced me to Lyrica! Oh my word, once I got the stuff in my system, Mystie, I'm here to tell you I COULD RUN if I wanted and not feel pain! I have been moving around like I'm in my 20's or 30's! It is a MIRACLE DRUG to me. I know not everyone has the same experience or luck with it, but, I do suggest it to you. He started me out on a low dose, and so far that works. I found the 100's is to high for me for now, maybe later. But, it feels so good to wake up and know I am not going to hurt like I have been!!! I am so thankful and happy, I truly wish that for you and all of us here at this community!!
