Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I take Promenthazine syrup, your doctor has to prescribe it. But you take 4 teaspoons about 30 mins before you medication and it really helps. I found that this helps more then anything else I have tried! The only thing is you have to remember to take it before you take your medication because once you are already nauseated you will probably throw it right back up ( I do.)
Hope this helps, good luck! Let us know:)
I eat ginger when I am nauseated and it helps me.
As for the contract thank the DEA and the FDA is also trying to get into the mix.
Call your reps, and the president. Let them know how this is affecting you.
You can find the numbers at congress.org.

I take either Compazine or Zofran for my nausea. The Compazine isn't as sedating as the Zofran (or expensive!!!!) but I get clonic muscle twitches if I take the Compazine often. Both work pretty well for the nausea, and I take both if it is really bad. I have a tendency to dry heave, but NOT vomit, so I want the feeling to GO AWAY when it happens.
Oddly, although I was not happy about my doctor reducing my Vicodin by 100% and Vicoprofen by 60% and substituting OxyIR (which is still hard to get) the change has reduced the nausea a great deal. I was over the limit on APAP per day, and I thought I was fine. Sheesh.
My doctor and I and my pharmacist and I have an Oral Covenant. I have asked both if they want something in writing and they both said, "If it becomes necessary." I really expected it, (I even wrote one out for both, but I have it in hard and soft copies, so I can grab it if either ask) with the med changes, and how sick I was, but we stuck with the oral understanding. My doctor also sends regular updates to my Family Practitioner, so he will know what I am on etc. Although they are at different hospitals.
I hope you are feeling better.
Reglan is by prescription, and my dr always gives me warning speeches about side effects. But it works really well for me.
