Hey JC im in Ft Lauderdale, FL. Isaak has passed us by, but barely. We did get his outer bands and have had extreme winds and tropical storm like conditions. It has been raining for the last 2 days with some thunder and lightening in between. Our pool need to be drained and cleaned from all the leaves blown into the bottom of it. Today we are supposed to get mainly rain and storms all day from Isaak. But other than that, we are doing ok. No damage to report. Our electric did flicker a few times last night. But we were prepared with candles and flashlights.

JC Im on the Pacific side as well. About an hour northwest of Miami. We're still under storm and flood advisories. But we've been through much worse before. So I think we'll survive!!

Minnie, Yes that is weird about being Katrina's 7th anniversary.
I think it is looking better for us where we are. Of course these things are unpredictable. After Katrina, I am hyper vigilant.

well jancam we here in MO are wanting the rain coming from this storm...I know you will get wet before we will..but sometimes rain can be too much even north of the coast....like when we had a storm in texas come to us and drop 5in in 24hrs and flash flooding out the business I had just been hired to drive for....so not just having to care about those on our coastals but also for those in path of the strong winds and rain although I think most agree we need it with the drought being so bad...just not so fast with so much rain please!

I'm in eastern Texas and depending on which track Isaac takes, he is expected to likely turn northward and up through Texas and our area...but if he goes a bit east of us, La will get the western edge. We need the rain, so we're hoping to get at least some of it. They are forecasting gusty winds and heavy rains for us, but just not sure yet how much.

JC, you are such a considerate person to be thinking of everyone else when you are in pain...bless your heart. My thoughts and prayers are also with all those in Isaac's path.
