If you google doctors of integrative medicine/holistiic medicine in Austin TX or just TX, there are lots of choices. That's a good, safe route.
Hope you're doing much better, soon.
I don't understand why your regular Dr. would ignore your BP being elevated like that. Is it normal when you went to see your dr.? Pain is also a huge cause of high bp. Wish you the best. If your dr. isn't listening to you it's probable time to find a new one that cares and listens.
Healing hugs
Good luck in your search.
Love and gentle hugs,
Jenna
It causes all these symptoms because the organs fail to get proper nutrition to heal. Then they start to function poorly or not at all.
My liver, kidneys, pancreas, heart, lungs, and brain were showing such serious signs, they wanted to biopsy all of them. They did the intestine testing first so I avoided all those.
Or try cutting out gluten and see if anything gets better. 90 days is needed but I felt noticeably better after 4 weeks. So many foods have wheat in them that our bodies are simply being bombarded. We were not meant to eat just one grain in everything.
It can't hurt to try it and see what happens.
Just cut out all bread, cakes, donuts, and wheaty snacks and in a couple weeks you can tell if it is helping.
Celiac is the worst and most rare of these gluten tolerance issues. Most people are just intolerant.
Hope you feel better soon
I agree with beth on the thyroid, I've been seeing a endocrinologist and they can take great care of thyroid issues and they can due blood tests to see if there is reason this occurring at a young age. for me it's turn into a puzzle that I want the answer to why did it start so young.
good luck and keep us posted

I do suffer from hypothyroidism and have been on Synthroid for probably 2 years. At my last appointment with the endo a couple weeks ago, my level was 2.4...she said that was good and to keep with the dose of 125 mcg. The primary care didn't want to make too many med changes. All he said he'd do is look through the visits I've had with other docs and see what my BP has been. I told him that it's been high for two years and now a fluke is when it's normal.
I don't get why these docs don't take me seriously. It takes a lot to scare me. I'm used to dealing with strange and random symptoms, but these last few weeks have been absolutely terrifying. I am just so happy my Mom is going to get me and stay with me. She said she'd come to the appointment with me. Thank you guys for your support and advice. I can't even begin to express how much I appreciate it!
They aren't listening! I don't know what else to say except try to push it to the hilt---when you go in there today( if you get this before you go .) What I mean is this... exaggerate your symptoms as much as possible... and maybe... as you sit there, act as CONFUSED as possible. THEY DON'T SEE YOU AT YOUR VERY WORST ALL THE TIME-- you are not lying... just switching time ...
Are they really going to be so stupid and heartless as to let you walk out acting so confused? Maybe so -- Ive had my share of stupid docs ...
They might admit you to the hospital ...? If thats something you are willing to do... PUSH IT! Maybe they will DO something!
Im sorry hun.
She did get an EKG done in their clinic and it showed that my heart was going very fast, but the rhythm looked normal. She said she's referring me to a cardiologist within the practice. She didn't know much else to do. What I did find interesting was she said that after seeing the cardiologist, I should come back to the Internal Medicine clinic but go with a different primary care doc. Both Nancy and the nurse expressed anger at how Dr. Lewis has handled (or not handled) things. We mentioned the possibility of getting referred to Houston or Dallas and she said she and Dr Lewis were in full support of that. My mom almost immediately said she doubted my dad would be up for doing that.
All he sees is the monetary cost of things. My mom said she'd try and talk to him tonight but not to get my hopes up. Tomorrow night I am meeting them for dinner and we will continue the discussion then. I think it might have helped that I was so terrified when I was talking to him on the phone this morning, he might finally realize the toll all of this is taking on me. I don't know how to convey to him how important it is to get this figured out. I can't keep going like this.
