Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
So, I m not sure about the colonic clean out, but judging from the symptoms you are describing, you may have an allergy to gluten and dairy. Idk if you saw my post about it, but I had myself and my kids tested through blood for IgG and IgE allergies for many foods.
One of the kids scored off the charts for some stuff and she has terrible belly pain alternating with constipation and diarrhea.
Most common offenders are gluten, soy, dairy and eggs.
You may be able to help regulate your bowel by going on strict diet restricting all Of the above for a while.
Gas and pain and pretty strong signs of allergy.
Also, are you taking Senna? There are a few laxative teas/tabs that are plant derived and are considered safe.
I had so much success on the products, I became a distributor. Look into healing your gut. It will help you get on the right track.
LOL...my body is just plain crap!!!!!
Aronia, the only dairy I eat is Greek yogurt and I eat approximately 20 per week. I accompany that with 2 pineapples, 1 cantaloupe, a chicken breast once a week, and a few nutri-grain bars & some Ritz crackers for snacks. I really am not a food purpose and if I could figure out how to stay alive without it, I would. I use lactose, but I figure if I had a gluten or major dairy allergy, all that yogurt would have killed me by now.
I will ask my Doc to run some allergy tests.... I had IBS in the past, but it's been under control for years and this is like the opposite of that.
Thanks for the suggestions.
I can't help much on your main issue, but I did notice that you said you eat about 20 Greek yogurts a week. I am assuming that you mean that you buy the individual size yogurts not the big 32oz size. There is an odd thing about how all manufacturers of yogurts report the food labels on the individual size vs the big size. The "serving" size on the small containers are 157 grams if I remember correctly, but on the large containers the serving size is 227 grams. Why the difference? My guess, and that is all it is, is that the manufacturers do not want people to really closely compare the labels. At first glance, without looking at the serving size, a person may not catch that there is a big difference in a minor little thing like sugar for example.
The next time you are at the store compare the labels of plain Greek yogurt vs any individual size while keeping in mind the recommended serving size. The first difference in added sugar is stunning. That is why after I figured out their game I switched to plain yogurt in the large container and then weigh my own serving size at home with a good kitchen scale (135 grams). I then add whatever fresh fruit we have in the house plus some walnuts. I save a lot of money and eat a fraction of the sugar that I use to before I realized what they were doing.
I have checked many different brands and the all do the same thing. Something is fishy in the dairy case....
I have been buying 'smooth move' tea they even sell it at Walmart. It's a healthier way to get things moving and not harsh on the tummy at least not to me.
I do drink some tea, but have to limit is because the kidney stones that my kidneys like to shoot out on a regular basis are oxilate stones, and tea is one of the big "no-no's" for those types of stones. But I'm terrible with fluids, I hate water and only drink it when forced. I drink lemonade (that's what I put my Miralax in), so I probably need to just start cutting up lemon wedges and sticking them in water bottles and drinking the darn water. UGH!
I allow myself 1 large sweet tea from McDonalds on the way into the office on M - Th. and that lasts me from 11:00 a.m until I get home at 5:30. I do drink a cup of Earl Grey in the mornings, I've never touched coffee in my life and never will.
I don't need to have that close of a relationship with my yogurt, its the one I like, the one of only 3 greek's that I'll eat, so that won't change.
And I'm a purist, I don't like anything added to my yogurt, just my plain ole yogurt. And since that is my main food source daily I don't change it.
But thanks for the info.
8 to 10 glasses of water a day. Instead of tea, which does trigger Kidney Stones, I add lemons (juice & slices of it) and mint leaves to the water for a different refreshing taste.
The Gastro said if you have not gone in 3 days use a laxative, don't let it build up.
So to summarize:
1. Miralax with each meal (at least a cap-ful)
2. 8-10 glasses of water (flavor naturally)
3. Increase roughage throughout day. (I add Prunes and I use Ezekiel bread for extra fiber)
4. Heating pad on stomach and lower back if necessary to help relax the muscles, especially if you are having spasms.
Maybe do the elimination diet with foods that you feel may be causing the gas. Delete them from your diet for 30 days. If you have no more gas at the end of the 30 days, then add one food at a time to see if you can determine which food is causing the issue. For example if you add Yogurt back try it for 10 days if it causes gas delete it. Wait 72 hours after you stop that food then add one more food back. Same exercise. If you react remove it, if you don't, enjoy it. :)
My abdomen is full of adhesions from surgeries, so going or not going is very painful. I hope some of the info from my Gastro will help you also.
