For any of you that know me, or for the new people that have joined since i took my sabbatical, this is the skinny....
I grew tired of talking, texting, writing, and in all honesty living.....I effectively checked out of the human race for a time... At first I moped, then I sulked, and eventually I worked my way up to wallowing. My self pity became my sole reason for existing. I kept up with my usual's, watching tv, caring for my 4 year old daughter. I value my life too much to even consider taking my life, or harming myself but lets face it, for a while there I had given up...
Then something happened. As always I began to lose myself in reading. I have found that no matter how bad my physical condition gets I can always use a book as an escape. In a good book I can live someone Else's life, I am not constrained by physical limitations or bound by the physics of pain...
In my time I have come a crossed some genuine rare gems of literature whose pearls of wisdom have had profound effects on the way I feel and think. In this, my latest foray into the world of the bards I discovered one of these life changing books. I recently decided to start reading some of the books that society calls classics, and as i delved into this mission of mine I began reading " Atlas Shrugged" by Ayn Rand.
I am not exaggerating when I say that this book had a profound effect on me, it literally changed my outlook on life.... It made me believe that even if my body is twisted and broken, that it no longer listens to me when I tell it what to do...I still have a purpose....a reason to keep going...
My mind is my muscles, my weapon, and my power in this life...since I finished that book I have found myself consuming literature at a alarming pace. I have decided that I will continue on this endeavor until I believe that I have transcended from reader to writer....
I am not only devouring the content of these texts but I am also trying absorb the styles of each individual author in the hopes that by the end of this I will find a style all my own...
I have also began to draw and paint again, and I have an old colleague of mine looking into getting me a show at one of the small independent galleries in town...
I am still in pain, i am crippled, I am an orphan of the body adrift in a world where the physical form is the preferred medium for living. But I am not alone....I have all of you.....And I am armed with the most dangerous weapon one can wield in this world of physical feats.... I have a powerful mind and a imagination that knows no bounds....
As always I will keep all of you up to date on my progress, and I'll post my sketches as time allows. And even if I fail miserably, if I can inspire just one of you to better yourself, no matter in what degree.... Then I will have succeeded... I will have won....
Love Kris..........

I invited Bill to have dinner with me last Sunday. He wasn't willing to drive 7 hours to mid Michigan and teased me with his beautiful ribs!!! So, of course I ate alone and had cedar salmonĀ
