I was wondering if I am the only person on the planet with chronic wrist flexor tendonitis. There is no cure for me and I have to take the max. dosage of Lyrica per day to keep the electric jabbing and persistant throbbing in my wrists down. It is a repetive strain injury that I develloped at work. It is an invisible injury so no one believed me. I have worked hard for a complete career and nothing was more insulting than to be treated as a liar and a cheat by my so called co worker friends. This injury is not common but may become more common as the army of mad texters and tweeters overload their tendons. Believe me this is one injury you really don't want. If it flares up bad enough I can't brush my hair, do up my buttons,or even use a remote control. It is amazing to think that the resistance in a small button used repetitively while channel surfing can cause so much stress on a worn tendon. This has been a life altering injury as I have lost my career, friends and believers in my cause as time has past. This is truely a lonely injury that nobody knows I have. If there is someone out there that suffers the same injury please let me know. Thanks

I have the same thing in my leg I think. Nothing showed up on EMG or X-rays. I can't have an MRI because there is metal rod that would be it impossible to read.
Have they tried to look for neuromas to see if it is a nerve problem or does it feel like it is inflamed?
Every time I use my leg for anything it flares up for weeks at a time...
I so sympathize with you.
Usually an injection can provide some relief.. Idk of it did for you at all.
Also, have they given you steroid pills ? Usually steroids help inflammation for neutitis/tendonitis, etc.
If they can't SEE a problem, it doesn't mean it is not there... So frustrating when doctos think we are faking.
As if I LOVE putting poison in my body and be doped up to the point that I can't enjoy my life.

Hi, Thanks for answering my call for understanding. Many of the treatments that you have stated I have never even heard of. I've seen several Neurologists, Pain specialists, Chiro, Physio, and etc. The one thing that really I think could be an underlying factor is I have a heriditary neuropathy. Deteriorating Mylor coating around the nerves. This makes me vulnerable to paralysis when pinch points are pressed. I wonder sometimetimes if I have an excellerated condition of the breakdown in protective nerve coatings creating over sensitive nerve response. So far Lyrica tends to keep the symptoms somewhat at bay but I live a very basic and sedate lifestyle. Too much gripping and resistance to the closing of my hands and the pain will be horrible.

New technology has its disadvantages. Even though traditional pain meds aren't prescribed alone for nerve pain, they can help when used together with drugs like Lyrics. Have you tried other meds similar to Lyrics to see if they work better? Not using your arms and hands will cause problems with the muscles and make things worse.

Hi, I'm sorry your suffering so much and that the docs haven't been able to help you more. I don't have your condition but I, like everyone here, know what its like to live with constant pain and what effect that has on your whole life. I've lost my job, friends and social life so I also understand the emotional impact cp has and this has been the only place I've found where everyone truly gets what its like living this way. I hope coming here, and realising your not alone, helps you a little.

Although I do not share your exact condition I do understand from having my own pain conditions. I had the bones die in my shoulders which makes it hard to use my hands at times. Plus the other nerve conditions and pain conditions but what I really wanted you to know is you are not alone.

Thank you everybody for taking the time to offer your support and really good medical option advise. I think I am going to really enjoy learning about others who are suffering with pain. I am new to reaching out and sharing my experiences with others. When I was hurt on the job I was treated horribly and I lost my trust in humanity. I've always believed you don't kick somebody when they are down. I was kicked alot and as a result I have been hesitant to trust anybody beyond my own family. I almost wonder if my mental pain is worse than the physical. Thanks again everyone and I look forward to hearing more about your experiences with pain.
