I recently had a cervical MRI and a lumbar MRI. OK. I had not gotten an MRI since 2011. Anyhow, I did have neck surgery at C4-5 back in 2010.(successfully) Also, I was told DDD in my lumbar area a few days before Christmas in 2010. (and left my last job on disability retirement and have gotten on SSD by now) OK. My neck has been hurting worse at times lately than my lower back has been. (sometimes)(different pain levels) The VA doctor did state the X-rays were showing some DDD at the C5-6 over 1 1/2 years ago, but she never suggested I go to a neurosurgeon.(which I finally did again)(different one) OK. He seemed more concerned about the neck, even though he did state my lumbar area needs to be operated on. Yep. He put in the disc and was showing me. I could tell something was wrong at the C5-6 easily enough. (something going inward)(or whatever) I am scheduled to have neck surgery on October 30th. Oh, well! Yep.

Can you identify these rom-coms from just a screenshot from the middle of the films? This is a multiple choice quiz so even if you're not entirely sure you can always take a guess and at least have a 25% chance of getting it right anyway, so why not have a go?! https://www.buzzfeed.com/alysaurus688/rom-com-screenshot-trivia-quiz

I am not a candidate for surgery - I don't heal well. Good luck and keep us posted. I honestly hope it gives you relief!!!

I am so sorry that you need another surgery!
Wishing you smooth hospital stay and speedy recovery!!!
Vadim-we could use that sprayon bandage and just cover you with it :)
by the way....welcome to our corner of the Internet I do not think we have met before....
I hope your surgery is a great success and helps alleviate your pain. I just had a fusion from C3 - C5 & already had C6/7 done years ago. They had to put 6 screws and bolts in me just to stabalize the neck. Ibi hope you just have to have a laminectomy. As long as they alleviate the pain and you're okay after, that's all we can ask for.
Please let us know how you make out when you can. I'll keep you in my prayers Tom.
Hugs,

Sorry for.taking over your post. I just really want to know.why you "get" to have surgery and I don't.
Thank you for any input,
Karsu
Karsu the only thing I can think of is that the discs weren't pushing on the spinal cord which is dangerous. When was your last MRI? If you are not happy with the doc I would certainly get a second opinion.

I might need c-spine surgery in a few years. They want to fuse a type of plastic brace to the upper part of my c-spine, (that's where the damage is). To be honest...I'm a bit afraid of this one. My shoulder was done and it's worse now then before.
I just want to wish you luck, and let us know how things work out. Hang in there buddy!
Joey
I truly hope you get relief that lasts with this next surgery.
