Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
I have become such a good actress hiding my pain because when I worked, no one wanted to be around a grumpy, sick person bringing them down, plus I had to hide it from the customers. Doing this doesn't help people understand either.
Now I can't work after being rear ended on the hwy when I was stopped at road construction. I was in tears one day when I answered the door. There were two Jehovah Witness ladies. They asked if they could come back and I said I have chronic pain and don't always feel well. The younger one said fibro?? and I said yes, along with other conditions. She said but you keep smiling!! Guess I need to write my Oscar speech lol.
I understand not being able to sit still and watch a show, its one of the reasons my friend no longer asks me to go to the movies with her. How much more am I going to have to give up? It seems like I give up doing more and more each year.
I'm adding to the gripe. Thanks for letting me vent. This is truly a sore spot for me.

Hope you a better day.
Right now I've been sitting upright in a computer chair for 4 hours with just two small bathroom breaks. I just had my first Norco of the day and the pain is starting to really bother me. I'm going to fight the pain for another two hours and then move my operations downstairs where I can elevate my legs. I usually do all of my standing work, standing only. I do not bend down at all. I stand straight and do dishes, vacuum, and sweep. I have to sit down in a chair to clean my cats litter box, and I have to have help carrying stuff up and down the stairs. I also get bad pain in my right arm, because I have to use my arms with my fist closed to push myself up out of the couch, and sometimes it pulls my shoulder and arm to the point where it throbs and gets numb for a few hours. I also have to hols onto towel racks and door knobs to lower myself down into the toilet seat. This also puts a lot of strain on my right arm and shoulder. So the more activities I do, the more I damage the good parts of my body in order to compensate for the loss of function in my bad leg.
Any how, vent away. I've done it on here many times before. Sometimes we need to get this stuff out of our system. I hope you're feeling better. Hugs!
Sorry your family is being mean.
My son gives me a hard time but he's only young and he's depressed. But when he tells me he's sick of me being ill it really hurts.
I work and pay all our bills and I have been there for him every time he's needed me...he won't do the slightest thing he doesn't want to and I have had to accept he's immature and selfish right now.
@uncommon it's very lonely isn't it. People say ' how are you' I respond with 'hello' because that's what they mean.
One of my friends drove across town with her kids this am and we went to the park. It was so nice to feel ' normal ' for a while. So nice to not be thinking about anything stressful.
She'll be moving overseas soon so we're going to try to do it again soon.
And some people yell at me for moving plastic chairs that are lighter than my Bassoon.
It gets wearing. We just have to keep taking one day at a time. And yell and scream at them when too many days pile up on us at once.
I cry almost every time I go upstairs to get home the pain is so bad. I live on the 2nd floor. Once I am inside I'm ok, but leaving & coming home sucks. A lift isn't an option; it's outside stairs. Ugh. I'm so worn out today. I feel disabiled today & I usually prefer handicappable!
Hugs to everyone.
can't tell you how much I regret buying this upstairs condo...ar least I won't flood I suppose but the stairs kill me.
The HOA say I can't put up a second rail or a stair-lift...I am pretty sure they are wrong but I don't know if I can summon up the energy to deal with them. ADA isn't my expertise and I am sick of trying to get expertise by paying for it which evaporates...there are too many people milking the sick in the US.
YES! It never occurred to me I wouldn't be able to use the stairs at 43 years old. I keep telling myself that I will/could go into remission soon. Unless I win the lottery I can't move anywhere plus I think I have to quit my job and Ssd could take a while. Ugh.
Mine are cement and steel and they are in disrepair so I don't think a lift would even be safe! I try not to think about the future of walking, it's too scary.
Can't think of something positive to say about it. Oh, I'm not dying! I suppose that's good, but this stuff sucks.
Hugs
