Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

Feel better and think good thoughts!
Gentle hugs,
Kristen

My middle son loved to play his dreadful techno music at a volume that could make the whole street vibrate. One evening, I stood at the foot of the stairs, yelling for him to turn it down. Of course he couldn't hear me...he was busy losing his hearing.
So...smart Mom that I was, I knew which breaker controlled just his bedroom which had every electronic device known to man.
I flipped the switch, his room suddenly went dark and quiet and I yelled...'can you hear me, now?'
Single Moms have to be creative...
Good luck with the teen and I hope your pain lessens and sleep is peaceful.

Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
My daughter was 3 hours late today and never even said thank you mom for watching Aly. URGH!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm so sick of being taken advantage of.
I also have the house full of friends who make a mess and eat all my food and drink everything in the fridge. Between my three sons I had 9 boys and girls in my basement and think when I call dinner they can all come up and grab a plate, it is hard enough to feed our family of seven I cant feed that many people.
So one night we sat down to eat and of course I had to remind them how to hold their forks. When they had them held properly I went around the table tapping their hands that way. They had to eat the entire meal that way. I did it with duck tape really good so afterwards it took a while for them to get it off.:)
I never had to tell them how to hold their forks again:)
My oldest likes to run all the hot water out. I have shut the water off on him before!

A few years later when my older one was 13, he started to get an attitude. I said to him "do you remember a few years ago when I told you you were going to feel this way about me and it was just your age that was going to make you feel that way?" He stopped the attitude, and said "Oooh! I do remember. I'm Sorry mom." I knew he would still have those rebellious feelings, but at least he didn't direct them at me. He's now 31 and on his own. He's studying to be an architect, and his wife just graduated from veterinary school. I'm so glad we weathered the rebellious phase without any casualties. And I'm so thankful we had that talk when they were 7 and 10.
The rebellious teen phase is just God's safety valve. If they weren't contrary, we would never want them to leave the nest to be on their own.
He is a visual learner and we both like to write. He still has the letter I wrote to him when he was 16.
I don't think his behavior changed much but it sure helped me to write it down and also I could do it in love. By the time I finished the letter I felt a lot better.
Now he has a 3 year old son just like him.
