Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
it might be advantageous to talk with your PMD about consolidating some or most of your meds into something that is more long acting that does not make you so sleepy.
Unfortunately for me...i don't take meds at work or I would lose my job. My days are pretty difficult to handle....but I make it though with sometimes only a muscle relaxer Baclofen on board.
if your finding it hard, use little pain killers while at work and then you have finished work, something stronger.
i look after my 4 children and the pain killers do effect things, short term memory loss,so when they are punished i forgot and the kids enjoy that.
i was working and in cp and ended not working due to the pain.
After I'd been on my current med for several months and it was helping my pain more than any of the dozens of other meds I'd tried I obviously wanted to stay on the medication...even though it was still making me REALLY sleepy...pain relief DEF outweighs that side effect...so my doc put me on a med to help me stay awake/alert (there are several...provigal, adderrall, etc) so I don't ever pass out at work again!!
Superduck, props to you for not taking your meds at school/work...I can't even get out of bed w/o mine.
Hope everyone has a good day :)
