I just got back from the small business expo in our community and I did not know that our state dept. had a rehabilitation program.
They train people for new jobs that have disabilities of any kind. I think I could do a desk job! I have all kinds of computer skills but the problem is, when you fill out a resume, I can't say that I have this degree or that degree or any kind of special schooling and that gets your app tossed!
She asked me what I had and after explaining it to her she said I would qualify! Hmmmm, think I will be checking into that some more:) I'm so tired and lonely at home and we really could use the extra income. O, and insurance would be worth it all!!!
Also I signed up for door prizes at every booth.....I won a 3 month subscription to the civic center. They have water aerobics! I use to be able to do water aerobics, but that was before my back got so much worse. It really wore me out after each session but I really need the exercise. If nothing else I could try walking in the pool and see how much pain that caused. I don't know if I will be able to do it without too much pain but anything is worth a try.

I'm not sure what Ticket to work thinks I can do but I applied. It's online only and it's work from home for the disabled only. I'm waiting for them to contact me now. I'll let ya'll no how it goes.
There might be a similar program in your state if your interested.
Dixie I hope this works for you. I could use the extra money too. SSDI is not enough to live on now days.

I did not read through all the replys yet so not sure if it was brought up already and if it did you can just ignore.
States usually have all kinds of programs and they never tell people LOL it is like a secret you just happen to be in the right place at the right time to learn of them.
I really miss the water, last spring I got scuba certified but my IV port has me stuck on dry land until January.
We only have one bathroom and we decided to do just a shower because it was going to be for the boys only and we were going to build an addition with a master bath and put in a jet tub, well, money ran out of course. So now I spend cold damp winters without a tub to soak in and heat my bones.:( So a hot tub would be heavenly in the winter!!
