Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
this is just a twist in your path.
hugs and welcome!
I know how you feel. I refer to myself as "permanently disabled." My pain won't be just going away, eiither. I am a realist. I know what I can and cannot do, for the most part. I had to go through a long period of acceptance over my condition. I've gotten progressvely worse. So, it's almost every day I have to accept it in a new way. The limitations list grows, but I try to work hard on pushing my limits.
Please take care,

First, stay active. No matter how bad the pain is, laying around will make it worse.
Second, do you have a wellness center or PT facility that has a warm water pool near you? Water PT is so wonderful for fibro. I swam 3x aweek until we moved here and there isn't one near me. They're building one about 30 minutes away from me and it will be done in Sept and I'll be the first one in line to join!
Third, make sure you're sleeping well. If not, the doc can put you on a tricyclic antidepressant, taken at bedtime, which will help you sleep better and longer.
Fourth, don't give up! You can live with fibro!

I almost never cry, and I felt like an ass for it today. My mother didn't make it any better when she gave me the, "Tons of people have it worse" speech. I wanted my little pity party, lol.
I think I'll be on here much more from now on, finally knowing what is wrong with me, after years of tests, so I can learn to cope with it- With the help of you fine people.
MUCH love to you all.
