Just got off the phone with Doran, Lisa's DH & her surgery went well. She's resting in the ICU. Thanks for your prayers.

Lisa's still doing fine. Apparently when the Dr.'s got into her back they realized that one of her previous fusion surgery, if failed and had not fused. So the repaired that one and then did the one they were in there to do,

So hopefully this will take her pain away, since part of it was from a failed fusion.

I'm not sure when she'll be able to get back online, but i'll pass on all the words of good will and prayers.

Please let hurting Angel know she's in my prayers for her recovery. Angela

I just got a text from Lisa and she's doing okay, she's in a new realm of pain, but that will settle with time as her back heals from the surgery. She basically had a fusion, and an old fusion that never fused, re-fused, so they did a lot in there. I told her of all your prayers and kind thoughts and words.

Bestie(OldcPer) from the bottom of my heart thank you for not only doing this post, but for always being there for me. A huge thank you to everyone else for you kind words, positive thoughts and prayers.

I'd be lying if I said this surgery wasn't a tough one. I had been doing pretty well until Tues when two things happened. First I was hit with this inhumane type of pain that's still going on. Second part of my dressing opened up and as a result I had blood running everywhere. This happened mid afternoon, I called my spine dr and they wanted me in first thing Wed morning, in the meantime they told me to have hubby tape some new gauze over area that had opened.

I went in and they redressed my invision which runs the full length of my back. For whatever reason because of this hubby now needs to redo it everyday by first applying benodyn and two layers of dressings.

My spine dr said the reason I've been having this horrific pain is that the muscle he had to cut through to get where he needed to go he first had to cut that muscle back layer by layer. He said that muscle is affected by everything I do from just breathing, to moving my arms, my head etc. because of this typing is excrutiating. He said it will be a long road.

On the bright side, this pain is located in my upper back. If you draw a line from the very back of your armpit to the the spine, the pain is approx 2-3inches on each side of that area and three inches down. Now DRUMROLL PLEASE, below that I have zero, yes I said zero pain!!

A month prior to surgery I was diagnosed with SI joint dysfunction and the pain in my SI joints was unrelenting, its totally gone!! I am even able to sit in a regular chair for 10-20min & I haven't been able to do this in years. My only concern is that as many of you know when there is a sudden on slot of pain to one area the brain tends to not be able to focus on more than one tough area at a time & I'm praying that's not the case here.

I'm afraid I need to put this to an end as typing this has caused a firestorm in that muscle. I could never have gone through all of this had it not been for DS and all the wonderful people/friends that have been there for me, God bless you all!

Puullleeasseee girl your brain can focus on many parts at one time, I've got a zillion middle of the night emails as proof....I choose to believe that your surgery was a success...your SI pain is if not completely gone, barely detectable...and the muscle pain will go away with time...

Lisa I am so glad you are on the road to recovery and that the surgery is behind you. I too, had a lot of muscle that was cut and it is no picnic, but it does get better. I cannot still type because of the strain I am putting on my neck, but I did want to tell you I am glad you are recuperating. I hope by now the dressing issue has been resolved.
