My brother came to visit me and he is also on pain management (PM) and we got to talking about why and how they are so strict when it comes to medication-I agree, some who came before us, abused the system and now we are paying the price-under the magnifying glass.
This is what he told me: His doctor, before he even goes into the exam room to see him gets on a website and can tell all RX's (type, dosage, strength and doc who prescibed) that my brother has had filled.
He then knows exactly how many he should have left and when a refill is do and GOD forbid he gets a med from someone else without clearing it with him first. This is grounds for dismissal from a PM's care.
Information is strength. So just thought I would share. I see to many of us getting the boot for stupid things that can be explained if given the chance-but you will not be given the chance...just the boot.

the Federal Government crackdown on the treatment of chronic pain. Doctors, patients and the drugs that relieve our pain and restore some quality of life are a major part of the war on drugs effort. The DEA now regulates medicine in this country, until this atrocity is rectified, we will continue to be undertreated, we will continue to die from the disease of chronic pain, and our docs will continue to be thrown in prison.
For what? For treating to the medical, "Standard of Care." Which often times requires high dose opioids.
