Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

If you aren't interested in taking anything to help, then always having an optimistic outlook on things and also remember that people around you will be very sympathetic and understanding to you that you are in pain, and you could mention that you are in discomfort. I hope you feel better,
Cheers
- Brandon
I don't know what your resources are, but despite being a very private person I did find it helpful to talk to a therapist. They were the impartial "third party" I needed, and a good outlet for me. Sending you good wishes for surgery. :)
Know that you’re not alone here, I hope your surgery goes well & things get better
Sending support & gentlest of hugs <3
I am so sorry you are suffering from social anxiety and feeling alone in your pain. Sometimes it feels like a cycle of avoiding people and then feeling lonely, you lose either way. I have days where going to the grocery store seems like a social engagement I don't want to go to :)
It is natural to feel depressed when you are in pain. I try not to think of myself as a depressed person and instead think of pain as depressing. Try and remember that you are still there, under the pain.
I hope your surgery helps and you feel a whole lot better after you recover. Don't give up and try to find anything that brings you joy even while you are suffering. My son bought me one of those coloring books for mother's day. So I colored a page to show him I liked it, it was so relaxing I started another one yesterday. You just never know what can help. Feel better soon. xo
Sometimes I have to force myself to start it, but I almost always feel more calm when I get done. Plus, it doesn't decrease my pain, but I notice the pain much less when I'm doing it.
I have had Chronic Pain and Daily Migraines for over 7 years that has forced me to spend many days inside of my apartment ALL day! I am a divorced woman & I live by myself w/a great cat but she is no substitute for basic, human, contact. Unfortunately, due to my almost daily Chronic Pain, I have had to cancel out on a lot of plans with friends over the years that led to many lost friendships!
Today I am happy to say that I have learned HOW TO BE ALONE AND NOT FEEL LONELY!
It has been quite a journey but I have learned many tools and skills over the years regarding HOW to live with Chronic Pain.
Today, I have my own, personalized, "Chronic Pain Program" that I try & practice everyday. (If you want to hear more, I can email you!)
As a result, I have a stronger "sense of self" because I know that I am NOT ALONE & how to take care of myself!
It has not been easy but I have had to teach myself HOW to "sit still with some uncomfortable feelings myself which I could NOT do before I had Chronic Pain! I always needed VALIDATION FROM OTHER PEOPLE to tell me I was a good person!
I am ok now with being alone and I have learned some, new, fun hobbies to do by myself.
I have also found a "'spiritual practice" that helps greatly with my lonely feelings, ease my stress and even help reduce my Chronic Pain!
Today, I am lucky to have some family that supports me and I am very, grateful to have "REAL FRIENDS" in my life who listen to me talk about my pain & do not judge me or rum away! They may not always UNDERSTAND what it is like to have Chronic Pain but I can count on them for "being there" for me and that means the WORLD TO ME!
