Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Furthermore, I disagree with this article stating that you should drink "half your body weight" in ounces of water per day. That is not appropriate for everyone and can sometimes even be dangerous, especially to a patient with loss of kidney function.
I think the amount of water that we drink per day should be specific to our own health needs...and everyone is different....so it's best to check with your doctor on this.

Since I started Cymbalta, I do.
I know that alkaline is a good state for our body, but yes it could be hype.
There is enough of that going around.
The body's normal pH is 7.35-7.45, which is a slightly alkaline state. Any deviation from this range causes a host of problems. The body regulates pH through various metabolic and pulmonary processes.
The problem with alkalinized water is that if you drink enough of it, your body will then have a pH above 7.45, which again, causes a lot of problems.
DO NOT drink alkalinized water! Drink plain water. Save money on bottled water and use a filter, like PUR on your tap water.
Most experts say 8 glasses of water a day, but that can vary depending on your health. Some may need to drink more, others less. You need to speak to your doctor to find out the amount that's right for you.
Remember, you can't believe everything that is on the internet. Anyone can post their theories and you need to talk to a medical professional before you start following any advice you see on the web. Some of those can really do serious harm to your health.
Sandy
I've always been a "big boy", hovering around 400 for years until recently... but even at 340, that's 5,440 ounces, 321.9 bottles per day on the optimal plan! DAMN! Once the floodgates burst (OUCH, by the way!) I'd float away in my own fluids!!!
Great Googly Moogly!

According to Scientific America, ingesting too much water leads to an insufficient amount of salt in one's blood. When salt levels get too low, the kidneys can't function correctly, and it can lead to swelling of the brain. Symptoms include things like headache, fatigue, nausea, vomiting, and mental disorientation. It's incredible that water -- something we typically think of being such a healthy thing to ingest -- can do such damage.
While tragic, this certainly doesn't' mean we need to start putting a lock on our water faucets or grilling our kids about how much water they're drinking. But I guess like anything else, it's good to be aware of the dangers out there. And, of course, it's yet another reminder to teach our kids that moderation in most everything we do is usually prudent.
We will die faster from lack of water than from lack of food.
The body actually needs a tiny amount of arsnic (sp) to be balanced!
Both of these are necessary in the proper amounts.
It is all about balance
we get water from eating real fruits, not juices, non caf tea, etc.
btw, has everyone read the recent articles (and old news) that taking many meds with citrus juice can affect their efficacy? esp. grapefruit juice.
As far as what ya read on the internet .. take it with a grain of salt.
This one is mumbo gumbo - be careful about what you read and research everything. Be careful Tabby
hugs!!
