Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
Sometimes at night it makes me a lihthead apart from, the best thing for pain.
If your having problems go and see your doctor and explain it to me.
I was using the lycria and found that it really made me fogy about things and hated taking the next tablet. So i went and got them to put me back on gabapetntion.
If the nerve blocks work for you, ask your doctor to weekly blocks.
Good luck and I will keep you in my prayers.
I use the fentanyl patch too, the problem I have with the patches is that usually the day after I put it on I will get a rush of nausea and overall just sick feeling....Iam fighting with my ins since they are trying to get out of covring my pathces so when I get sick like this I usually have to pull the patch off.....catch my breath and get stable then once Iam I put on a new patch and Iam usually fine...but since my dr orders are to change it every 2 days it is wasting patches for me to have to remove them everytime I get sick these patches are 40.00each!!!!!My patches are 100mcg so my suggestion to you would be to either lower your dose or to wean yourself off ( with your dr's approval of course!)
If my ins does not authorize my prior authorization then I am going off of the patch because I cannot afford it especially when it makes me so sick like your do to you!
I hope things get better for you:)
I didnt sleep at all last night my hubby also had a bad day yesterday. One of the paramedics that works with him basically quit yesterday, no two weeks notice nothing. i basically hate him because now my hubby is working straight until next monday. He normally goes to work thursday mornings and is home Saturday morning or afternoon depending if he doesnt get a call before he is to get off. They also lost there ambulance contract up there in HAtch were he works and his last day is March 15th. We are not sure what we are going to do.
I take zofran or phenergan for the nausea. My insurance company is nasty about the zofran. I was prescribed 30 about 2 weeks ago because I had this horrible sinus infection where I was throwing up so bad I lost 10 pounds. Im only allowed 10 pills every two weeks and my dr wanted me to take it 4 times a day!! i hate how that all works. When I was in the hospital I was given zofran no problem every 4 hours for two weeks now I cant get any.
My dr took me off the nerve blocks for a while because after having it done 2 twice over a 3 month period my first in August the next time was November I gained 40 pounds!!! I went from 82 to 120 in that time. i would get 4 injections at a time. My sister was calling me a whale at thanksgiving, my whole family I told them I gained weight would whine about it all the time. My dads first words when I got off that plane were are you ok? And omg we didnt think it was that bad. Was just awful. i gained 10 pounds just in that week. I have the worst set of stretch marks i have ever seen all down my inner and outer thighs, booty area, all the way down my legs behind my knees which hurt and itch like crazy. I have bought so much palmers lotion, creams, and bath oil. Starting to go away some but I have noticed some new ones too. I try to work out when I can, just go for a swim because with the patch I get too hot and like yesterday your so light headed you feel like you might pass out. Hubby called yesterday in walmart about dinner and ended up rushing home because i was so sick, dizzy, and lightheaded. He gave me a shot of phenergan and started an IV. He keeps that kind of stuff here for me now for my asthma and nausea.
I dont know what I am going to do. Im really scared to go to work tomorrow. It will be the first time since september. I was so looking forward to it last week. Now god I cant call in sick. Its only 4 hours Im going to keep my oxy and phenergan on me they really cant say anything. i know Im not supposed to take it there.
With the lyrica and the patches and oxy, I told my dr I was having a really hard time focusing at work and at school. Just that fuzzy feeling you were talking about and he put me on adderal because the lyrica helped me a lot more than the neurontin.
When I wear the patches I only get the sick feeling once in a while but not too bad. Yesterday was just plain crazy scary. I havent been that scared since I started on it and had such a "fun" time in the ambulance and at the hospital.
I took it off I will see what my pm dr says in April. Right now Im just praying I have enough oxy left until next monday to at least take the edge off. Im really scared about work tomorrow new school and everything Im a substitue assistant. tomorrow is preschool for 4 hours in the morning my worst time when i have pain because for a while now it has been going in my feet and its hard to walk.
I tend to ramble when im anxious sorry guys i really needed to vent. The nerve blocks do help a lot but Im not wanting them anymore just because of the excess weight. I no longer see myself in the mirror my face is so swollen and I look about 5-6 months pregnant which Im not. and its horrible when people co-workers, friends, strangers in the mall or stores, gym ask me how far along i am lol.
Im doing kinda better today still dizzy, going to go and keep working on this scarf so sorry this is so long. Im just that freaked out by the whole thing.
Hugs guys I hope we are all having a pain free day. My hips, back, and pelvic area all hate me but atleast the edge has been taken off some. Im not going back outside no worries :)
