This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

Gosh dang it! I was meeting my mom and dad for lunch at this restaurant and I was walking away from one of the doors, and next thing I knew I was on the ground. I don't even know what the heck I tripped over...it was probably my own feet I tripped over. I managed not to hit my head on the sidewalk, but did rip the entire top layer of skin off of my knee. God it hurts badly. It was all bloody, but luckily didn't have blood running down my leg. Nuts how much the shallow cuts hurt.
The manager was really nice and got some first aid stuff to disinfect it and wrap it up with some gauze and tape. He also checked in with my family and I and made sure to write my name and number down so he could followup with me tomorrow on how I'm feeling. I know my back and neck are flared terribly from hitting the ground, but that's not really in his control. I'm only going to answer in terms of my knee.
I redressed my knee when I got home using some better gauze and tape that will hopefully stay on a bit better. I've got some ice on it right now as it did have swelling. Hopefully it starts feeling better soon. Definitely didn't need to have my knee get hurt. It will make getting around campus, something that is already really hard, even worse. But, am definitely glad I managed to not hit my head. I already have daily headaches, having rapped my head would just have made them that much worse.
I see my pain doctor in the morning to discuss changing pain medications as I seemed to have some troubling things happen when I took the Opana with my night meds. I didn't have the problems when I took just the Opana at noon, but it'd be nice to be able to take a dose in the evening since that's when my pain is typically the worst. I am hesitant to take my Opana now because it is later in the afternoon and I don't want to risk anything happening when I take my night meds. I still had troubling stuff happen when I thought I had left enough time between them. No major interactions should be happening with the medications, but it still seems like too much of a coincidence.
Sorry, just needed to vent about this. Can't believe I managed to trip again. I hadn't tripped and fallen for nearly five months. Guess I should be glad that it was that long in between incidents. I hope you guys are having a good weekend and not in too much pain.

I recently heard a great 2007 song the other day, "Falling Slowly" because it popped up in my newsfeed, accompanied by the sad news that the male singer, Glen Hansard, just died in a motorcycle accident. I learned that the song won an award and was featured in an indie movie called Once. I just watched it, and it's really good. They made it in 3 weeks on a $100,000 budget. It's streaming on...

Hope your knee will feel well soon!! I trip over my feet all the time! It's gotten to where I try to hold on to stuff, before I get momentum, for fear of tripping and falling. My funniest fall was trying to get up onto the side walk. Didn't gauge the step well enough, and down I went... on my knee! LOL!!! I hope your dr will work with you on your meds@!!
XOXO
Hugs & God Bless
