Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

I am good this morning...back still has a 0.5 pain going in it but that is it...it doesn't need anything but rest and no straining....I got up early to eat the other half a sandwich I bought yesterday in Italian area of town...then of course Shep started his appeals to play ball at 6:44am...brought said ball and pushed it towards me...:0) I of course told him it was too early then tossed it away so he got the idea that I do not play ball at 6:44am...LOL....he returned to me with ball and told me thank you for that one toss....I am good now go back to sleep...but I did what any good internet DS addict does I booted the laptop and got on line....LOL
I have feeling today is laundry day around my house....I have full basket and need to do this chore today....first I need to load dishwasher with the dishes sitting on top of the washing machine in dining room/kitchen....it is so nice to have laundry on same floor as everything else....no stairs to climb to run load or change to dryer...I love this tiny little rental house...loves it lots....
OK so since I ate my 1/2 sandwich already I am up for coffee with creamer....did you make a pot? of course I am sure you did I smell it someplace now to find that hidden coffee......yum
so that is it for me....I will be asleep again soon as I put the computer on bedside table....I took meds but no pain pills just normal stuff....ready to sleep to 10am if possible....I am tired....night friends!!!
All after and JC hope for your low pain low stress day with love of a pet too@ya.....
I am new to this group and I have seen a few of your good morning posts which are super.
What a bright way to start the day (well night by the time I get to see them).
Although I didn't work today I certainly got a work out with some relax in between. Started with physiocise, then massage, then food shopping, then housework, then relax. I think work might have been easier!!
I'm gonna be saw in the morning but what's new.
What are you days like?
Looking forward to Sunday.
JC, thanks for starting a morning post :)
Let's see, the good the bad the ugly. I understand that "Boss" issue. In our business we work 24/7. The bad thing is that some people take that 24/7 thing seriously. For example: 3 a.m. in the morning, phone call:
Me-Hello (expecting a health emergency with one of my kids)
Caller: Hi, I just saw your sign at ___ how much space do you have and what is the rental.
Me: (what the H@ll are you doing up and driving around at 3 o'clock in the morning and calling me!!!) We have 5,000 square feet, at $0.00 per square foot. Blah, Blah, Blah.
Caller: Blah, Blah, Blah. When can I see it???
Me: (Are you serious, at 3 in the morning, which planet did you fall off of??? Tomorrow is the weekend.) Would after 10 a.m. work for you.
Caller: No I won't be out of bed that early!!!
Me: (Too bad, I will use my fax line to call you back every hour until then !!!!) Call me when you start business and we will set a time. (Stupid, #%@#, now I am wide awake, and there is no one to punch, ah, hubby will do!!!) Thankfully, I shut my business down, and my husband's cell phone is charged in his office across the house at night.
Anyway, no sleep last night. Too much pain, and too much bookwork to be done today. Wish I could turn my mind off and on sometimes. It turns off at all the wrong times, and gets stuck in the "on" mode at all the worst times. Can't win!!
I need coffee, lots of coffee! JC hope you have a peaceful day.
Bill, hope you are getting some sleep. Our pets do try to run our schedules. Mine started barking when I turned the alarm off and tried to lay back down. :(
Nessa, welcome. We have not met, glad you could join us. Hope you are resting well. You had a busy day, hope you are not too sore.
Wishing all a peaceful, relaxing weekend.
Hugs-RJ
Things tend to slow down on the weekends here.
I'm sorry that I didn't say Good evening to ur friends in the southern hemisphere. I used to say that regularly when we had a couple of Aussie buds on here. So... definitely will now.
Good morning MrBill. Yep.. if it's not pain waking me.. it's usually one of my zoo. :-)
Rj
Isn't it crazy when and what people think it's appropriate to call about?!? ..I'd be with you in being scared something was wrong with someone in my family when the phone rings at that hour.
Hugs
I did get a few more good hours sleep....then decided I wanted to eat the left over blackened steak tips from last night....so popped them into micro and they were yummie....so now time for the rest of my diet orange soda....
I probably should consider the student that said he wanted to go today and tomorrow as scheduled but I told him to call me Thursday and no call so I am planning to not get out on roads today with him....he could call me and at that time I might consider taking him but I am not convinced I need to do that today....I know being my own boss has good and bad...if I am lazy I do not make money I could if I were less slothful like today....today is def set on slothful for the whole dang ding dong day! LOL
Nice to meet you nessaliegh...and RJR I would not entertain trying to be coherent at that time in morning if I were sleeping to even attempt to talk to that idiot...launch missiles with telephone! LOL
@ Bill, I have often thought about pulling the person through the phone and smacking them. LOL I loved that show "Ghost Dad", where he went through the phone and scared his daughter's boyfriend. :)
Now when I need to focus, I am passing out. I think I have an evil Leprechaun on my shoulder, sabotaging my plans! LOL
I have been reading your morning posts and wanting to join in for a while... Hope everyone has had a cozy morning.
It has been snowing almost non-stop here for a week. Early this morning I bundlled up and dug my way out to feed the horses, then came back to bed and watched a movie with my Daughter.
I woke up this morning without the neck spasm I've had all week! Even my headache has backed off. Maybe the Topomax is starting to work. I'm certainly getting getting all the stupid side affects. Typing is getting weird though as my arm and hand is more numb than tingly now. Not sure which is better. My Dr. found a new neurosurgeon in Santa Fe that she wants to refer me to. I feel kind of nervous about this cause they might want to do more surgery...
I hope all of you have something positive happen today. Find something about yourself to love. You deserve it!
Hugs!
I'm glad you decided to join in. :-)
Hi, Angela.
Sorry I'm less taljative today..
My hands aren't luvin' the cold :-)
Hugs
I decided to run load of dishes instead of the last load of laundry of sheets....so the dryer is going now with jeans and sweatshirts...
oh our snow storm did not wait to tonight and tomorrow...it started and my car is covered with snow already at 3pm...glad student did not call...he would have had slick snow covered streets....
I stayed inside but grabbed the mail to find the snow coming down....it is now my decision to stay in all night too....with snow coming down I do not need to get out and have idiot hit my car....LOL
I hope you are all having a good day today. I made me some chicken wings with franks hot sauce and ranch dressing today. They were good. I still have a few slices of home made cheese pizza for later on tonight. I'm glad to see you all out and about on this fine day. Hugs to everyone!
Whilst I don't like to see or hear of anyone in pain it sure is good to know that I am not the only one out there having ups and downs. And boy there sure have been a lot of downs.
Bill - you have a rather interesting diet :) Yep my pets (4 cockatiels) get me up early with their whistles every morning. Works every time. Sometimes after I hear them and they stop I think I have another half hour. And sure enough they start whistling again. It's like having an adorable snooze alarm.
RJR - family member or not I would be a cranky pants if I was woken up (serious emergency forgiven though). Just so hard to get back to a comfy spot and sleep again.
I agree with RJR about the positives. If I look back on the list of things I could do when I was at my lowest compared to now - unbelievable. I am by no means near back to what I was. Just slowly, day by day, I tried over and over to achieve one basic thing . I remember the first thing I did well. It was to hold my non co-operative leg and tell my toes to point. Then flex. Usually it would go in every other direction! It took me about twice a day for 3 months but I got there eventually. I still do it, so I don't lose it. So I kept going like this and I have made some differences. The mindset is the hardest thing.
It is really hard though to remember that there will be a large number of bad days. Even when I have done everything possible to make it good. Just have to learn to roll with it I guess.
Enough rambling for one post!!
Bill you must be so disciplined to have you own business. How long for now?
Salto - yay another newbie. Have you had many surgeries before for your neck (is it?)? It's snowing where you are!! Wow! Must be pretty cold. It is really warm here today. 31 degrees celsius (which in fahrenheit I think is 87F.
Well time for rest, while I can.
Hope everyone has a great weekend. Keep toasty!
