Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

JC- thanks for starting the day off. Hot Cocoa and crepes sounds good. Calorie free of course :)
Hope you are feeling stronger and have plans for the weekend.
This week has been a blur. Trying to finish things so quickly over last weekend, wore me out more than I thought. The last 24 hours have really been high pain, with an over the top headache. Last night was very low sleep again due to the pain. Hoping to get some naps in today.
There is an art exhibit opening today that would be nice to see. Have not planned much. Really need more rest than play today.. I need my dog to understand though. I did not get up and take my morning meds, so she started jumping up and down on me with her ferocious growl. At 9 lbs her growl is too funny.
Wishing all a low pain weekend.
Hugs-RJ
Any how, I hope all of you are having a better week then I've been having. I keep on getting reminded that my life is never going to be the same again. I also have to find a new pain management doctor as the one they referred me to is no longer taking new patients. I guess sometimes it's just not in the cards. I hope they find a decent doc for me to go to. The fact of the matter is, I will be gone soon on the road and won't be able to see a pain doc here in CA. I'm going to have to find one back east. Perhaps it's better out in Detroit to get pain management. I will find out at least. Any how, I'm sending you all gentle pain free hugs!
I'll have some pancakes with sausage and coffee. Yes, I'm going off my diet today. Only here though. I'm down 10 pounds so I don't want to put any back on. I'm not supposed to work out because I had ny skin cancer removed from my leg, but we'll see how long I last with that.
JC, I hope you're getting more rest honey. I know you don't sleep well. Unfortunately, that goes for a lot of us living in pain.
RJ, I hope you are feeling better honey. The art exhibit sounds nice. I hope you feel well enough to go and see it.. God knows we all need some enjoyment. Your growling doggie sounds cute. What kind do you have?
I hope everyone has a great day with low pain.
Love and hugs,
Xoxoxo
Mary Ellen
RJ missed you yesterday. I thought the stresses of the health care form that isn't there and your son's deadline. Stress really gets our pain and upsets the apple cart for our body to get through the diseases we have been dealt. Maybe today will be the day you and your little puppy take a nice nap and you get rid of the headache a catch up on sleep. A relaxing day. Later google some art.
Mary Ellen this should be your first week end without snow! Yay for that. Hope that sun is blazing down and you are at least up to the high 30's. I am sure you will do whatever you think is right about the elliptical. wink wink. You are really kicking butt on that diet.. Snow bound and all. Don't mess with Boston. That's what I say.
I am up for a birthday party. Another granddaughter will be eleven. Now we have two Tweens. They are just growing up so fast. This will be last party until September and then we start over with one every month until December. I have to add their daddies in September as well. Big month....September. My day will be a party.
Wishing all a day of peace and some joy.

Happy Saturday! Pancakes sound great. Wasn't "National Pancake Day" earlier this week? I don't know. I thought I read that on Facebook.
It's going to be a great weekend. It's nice and sunny and it's going to be in the 60's, then pushing up to 70 around mid-week. Watch and by the end of next week, it will get down in the 20's and we'll get snow or ice. Never fails! I bought a small bunch of daffodils at Trader Joe's yesterday for $1.49. I don't expect them to last very long, but a few days will be great. They are just starting to open.
My feet really hurt today. I was out and about yesterday for nearly 8 hours. An hour or so of that was when one of my neighbors cornered me at the mailbox after I got home and talked on and on. My cat upstairs started meowing VERY loudly and wouldn't stop, so that was a good excuse to break free. LOL! That was just as good as a dog barking.
I was really tired out and slept an extra hour this morning. I guess I will need that for Daylight Savings Time. One of my errands yesterday was to take my paperwork to the YMCA to join. I was approved for a discounted membership. I am planning to go today and maybe ride a bike or something for some calorie burning. They have aquatic arthritis classes every afternoon during the week, so I will start next week.
Now I am off to Wal-Mart to pick up a lock for my locker.
Everybody have a great day!!! (((HUGS!!)))
I sure hope so. Glad your roaring cat got you out of a conversation.
The heated pool will be nice at the YWCA and the classes.
I have done some and I always felt so good when I finished a class.
Best of luck and have a great weekend.

Cloverset! Hello, new friend.
An hour standing at the mailbox. !?!?! I'm afraid I'd end up being a little rude. I just hate it when I need to get myself extracted from a conversation and can't. You must e a very nice person. You're gonna need to stop that. Hahaha :-) :-) Aquatic classes sounds wonderful!
I have many daffodils lining my drive.
They're convinced it's Spring. I'm not at all clear why.. given the weather we've been having.
But..good for them!!
I'm so sorry this is so scattered and sacey..
It's that awful antibiotic poison I had.

Sorry I'm joining in so late.
Just reading through the posts and I am so excited for everyone. It seems like a buzz going on. Did everyone take extra meds this weekend or something?? LOL
I'm just really happy for everyone when they get to do something extra and fun and for themselves or a loved one.
JC - I will have a short stake of pancakes soaked in original maple syrup please. With a skim cappuccino. Seems so long ago now that i had toast with cinnamon butter...... I'm ready for round two of b'fast.
Bill - you sound like you are having an awesome day out. Great to see you resting in-between and gathering strength.
JC - what on earth has the dr given you? Was this your regular dr? Scary!
HI Jeremy - I am not familiar with the American medical system but I am confused that if you have a script why can't you take it into any chemist/pharmacy and have it filled (providing they have the medicine in stock)? It should make no difference if it is weekday or weekend. Have I missed how the system works.
I have good news on the arthritis question I asked the other day - my Acupuncturist says the reason I have swollen sore fingers and hands in the mornings is because the medication I am taking is affecting my spleen. When I stop taking tablets my spleen will heal and I won't have swollen fingers anymore. I love that she is more positive then me and thinks I will get off these tablets. If only..... I can't be too negative, I have reduced some of them.
I am worn out - work last week did me in. Physiocise was terrible. I couldn't do the exercises. My tendonapothy kept hurting badly along with the sciatica. Massage didn't help much and then dinner. I just wanted to go home. You can imagine my mood when I knew I had to do chores today. Pewk!
Anyway, hoping this week will be kinder and happier.
I hope everyone keeps going strong.
RJ - I sent my Mum the spoon theory letter and she cried because it is how she feels. She has severe emphysema and cannot do much anymore. Her friends have not been able to adapt to that. So thank you again. The letter to normals was good too.
I will say goodnight and wish everyone the sweetest of dreams.
we had to stay in the city as I would not be able to drive my husband home. I am so glad we did. cos it was lovely .and I did not have to worry about my mum. the kids did it for me
but that dancing was fun.. I got back to the hotel. and was in such pain.
my gp has given me a script for an extra 100 that I can break in half. to add 50 for emergencies. but I had not got it from pharmacy yet.
I better go do my pills for the week.
I have an early appointment and I am soo slow in the mornings
