Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...
So sorry you got hurt today. Elevate it tonight and place an icepack on the injured part to keep the swelling down. After tonight you can try alternating ice and heat. If you are able to take it; Ibuprofen 800 mg taken every 8 hours will help the pain. I am glad that the test went well and you were able to take it before falling. Keep us posted on how you are doing. If the pain gets worse and it looks deformed or you cannot put any weight on it then go to the ER and get an xray to rule out a fracture. Gentle hugs to you!!!

When they did the x-ray on my left foot and saw the greenstick fractures, the doctor said there's really nothing they could do. I wore a boot for several weeks and it helped take the edge off the pain. As I can put weight on my right foot and it doesn't appear overly swollen, I am cautiously hopeful that wearing the boot will help it. If the pain increases to the point I can't put weight on it or if the swelling gets worse, I will call the Diagnostic Clinic where my new primary care doctor works and schedule something sooner either with him or one of his partners.
Thank you for pointing out elevating it and putting ice on it. I did have it elevated, but I didn't think of the ice. I will put some ice on it now. Again, thank you for your words of wisdom. I really appreciate you guys and I feel extremely blessed to have found this site with so many wonderful caring people.
Glad the test went well and that part of the day was good. Sorry you had the almost fall, but glad you didn't actually fall on your face and injure yourself more. Icing your foot/ankle will probably help quite a bit, especially if it's swollen. As far as using an old boot, not all of those boots are 1 boot for both feet, most are left/right specific.... If the pain doesn't get better in a couple of days, or it gets much worse, then you could go to an urgent care clinic and they could check it out, they usually have xray equipment onsight. It may be just a plain old ankle sprain.
Hope your able to rest tonight.
