Chronic Pain Support Group
Physicians and professionalsdefine pain as chronic if it lasts longer than three to six months and is persistent. It's distinct from acute pain that is a direct result of injury or trauma. This support group is dedicated to those suffering from chronic pain. Discuss treatments that have worked for you, find advice for your specific experience, and find support. You're not...

Sometime we look back and say "How did I do that?".
It is amazing how the survivor mechanism kicks in.
Thanks for posting this.
hippy
But then when I am able, as much energy that I used....
it takes that X ten to get over it.
I don't understand this, but just have accepted this as how my
body reacts to stressors and pain.
But my prayer is that is will improve and return to some normalcy.
First thought was, 'so true n then...wait a sec......
Then...OH....FOR OUR FAMILIES.......right then....
So true, Dix.

I do not have a choice nor do I want a choice. Well I take that back I guess I have a choice but like I said I do not want to get caught in that hole that if I do something and it hurts I have a choice not to do it again. I dont want to be weak and if I wanted my family I think would be ok with it to a certain point as they would not want me to hurt but I dont want to let myself down
I will think I am not up to doing something, but the minute my family needs me I will kick butt. I might be slow at it, but I do respond and just do it.
At the same time I also choose to be strong. I could lay back and say I can't, but I don't. I set my mind to deal with the situation.
My dad told me a situation he was in once. This was a long time ago. A friend was changing his tire and the jack fell out and his friend was trapped under the car. My dad didn't stop and think he reacted and lifted the car off of his friend. He was amazed that he could lift this car. He pointed out that he couldn't just go lift a car any other time.
Great post Dix!
Great one Dix!
There are times when not being weak isn't an option.
Of course there is more strength for our families than for
Ourselves when there's strength to be found.
But, sometimes ...there's no question of mind over matter.....
The body cannot do what it cannot do.
Sometimes the only strength left is to try to keep surviving for the sake of our families when we really just want to give up the fight.
I'm not sayin' this to be contrary....I just don't want anyone in that place to feel like it isn't enough.....because when it's all you can do....it's a lot.
Hugs.....jc..
